I started a project a few weeks ago, and I spent a few hours every weekend trying to get it done.  What I started was an inventory of everything of value in my home.  I actually used two different methods to get this done.  One is where I just used Excel to create a simple spreadsheet where I can enter information like the description, part number, serial number, price paid, etc.  It's a simple way to do it, but it gets the job done and I can store the file offline if needed....

I hope my son reads this today. He's in the doghouse with mom right now.

He loves to play games and I don't especially unless we're talking Monopoly or Scrabble.

Last Friday he told me that on Monday they would know the sex of their new baby. She's due in July. So yesterday I asked him what he knew. After playing a cat and mouse game for a bit, I chewed him out. He replied that he liked surprises! Gah!

So I know nothing. Since he told me Amanda is choosing NOT to know th...

Okay, here's a isn't my kid kee-yute story!  You know how all of us parents think our kids are just the funniest things ever and we have to tell stories and everyone else has to play along while rolling their eyes behind our backs.  Well today we got valentine cupcakes at the store and my son was reading the toppers and goes "ox, ox, love, sweet".  Ha ha.  I had to explain that the OX means hugs and kisses.  My kids are growing up too fast and the cute kid...

So, yeah. Here we are again, with actual proof that poor people live better than middle-income people.

There was no category for stupidity, by the way, or it would have gone there.

Someone I know, who make less than me, has 4 kids under the age of 5, and a wife who always complains that they are running out of food at the end of the month even though they're on food stamps, WIC, and any other government program... has now purchased (on credit of course) $6,000 worth of brand new furniture...

My in-law's just had a baby girl last night.  They're first.  This isn't my first time being an aunt but it is my first time being an aunt when I actually live close enough to see the baby on a regular basis.  I'm going to visit tonight.  Even better that she's a girl.  I have already bought a pink knit cap with crochet flowers, a pink flowered sleeper with matching recieving blanket.

My baby days are behine me but I love babies so much, especially newborns.&nb...
I just got a birthday box in the mail....thanks to BFD and Mama Charlie!

I recently bemoaned how I must be an adult because I was excited about getting a real life, frost-free freezer. Yeah, I was happy. Too happy. I must be an adult.

Actually, it's probably about time. My birthday is tomorrow. I have less than 2 hours left of being in my 20s. I suppose I am an adult....

But back to the issue at hand. Mama Charlie sent me a rockin' cool box. She sent a cookbook full of recipie...

Just John, I haven't seen your babies in a looong time, and I am jonesing for a triplet fix!

In fact, this is a challenge to all JU...whatever is cute, mischevious, or cuddly in your home, be it human or fur-baby...I want to see it!

I watched my first episode of 'The Twister Sisters' last night. For those of you unfamiliar with the program, it follows a pair of sisters, professional storm-chasers, on their escapades. Big Yawn. For added 'excitement' these two, for a fee, will allow 'civilians' (ie: people who have no idea what they're doing but for some reason or another have a burning desire to see a tornado, up close and personal) to accompany them in search of thrills, chills, and who knows...maybe even a real live de...
Somehow I was extra productive yesterday. I'm not sure why. I've had a hard time getting motivated since I went to Alabama (the only State that has a statue in the middle of town honoring a BUG) but yesterday, I got moving right away. It probably had something to do with the fact I did NOT get on the computer till after I did my chores....

But I digress, as a mom....I rock. I made homemade bread yesterday and it was fantastic. I had to force myself not to eat the whole loaf. This morning...
We've brought our oldest son to UW-Green Bay... where he is now a senior... and engaged. We sent our #2 son to the Las Vegas area to serve Jesus Christ as a missionary...Now it's time for us to put our only daughter on a jet headed out west where she's going to college...Daddy's little girl has flown the coop.Yesterday morning we drove down to Milwaukee Airport, I helped her with her luggage and getting through all the airport preboarding crap... hugged her, told her I loved her... and then she t...
I've never actually thought about doing it. It was done recently at work, it was a business thing, one department decided to create it for many of the students who were not going to be around anymore, and they actually buried it in a sealed container that everyone can see (a kind of monument no doubt), but not open until ten or so years later. I thought that was a great idea to make one!

The only other place I"ve heard about a time capsule is on television or in the movies, and putting it...

Dancing was our great joy at New Year. On New Year's eve we would swing around the floor to a big band --doing the foxtrot and the cha-cha and waltz. My wife and I did this for thirty years in the company of great friends and a snappy few drinks. There would be sing-songs and foot tapping and too much champers. We were applauded for our ballroom antics in whichever country we were living at the time. Those great social events were so special and we shall never forget them. Old age catches up tho...

I've gotten many requests for pictures of Ashley.  I love this picture so thought it would be a good one to share.

Dear Kaitlen,

Sweet 16 is treating you quite well. TOO well. You're all grown up - and out - and, well, I'm your Dad, so it makes me a trifle nervous.

Lead a smart life, dear, and try not to do anything stupid. Carry condoms regardless of what idiot things anyone may tell you about abstinence. At some point, you're gonna need them.

I love you,
Dad

P.S. Glenn, (my son on the left edit: duh...as if you needed that clarification, JU) - you have my permission to kill...for whatever...

Yesterday was CHRISTMAS the birth of our LORD JESUS CHRIST a very meaningful day indeed for the majority of us that is. As I observed many many folk shopping in one of the very few stores open (drugstore), I encountered an elderly gentleman a little after 10am, swho asked for my help. As I began to listen to his story I began to see something that I find not only apalling but unforgivable. This senior needed to contact his 40 something daughter and he only her work number and her bhome number. W...
