Many musical artists have very interesting styles of writing music. One of my favorites is those who tell a short story in the song. Especially stories that shock you in the end.

The song Maria Teresa Y Danilo, played by salsa singers Hansel Y Raul tells the story of a rich family who’s father (Danilo) always dressed in suits and the mother Maria Teresa) always dressed in satin. The couple had 2 daughters, the older who wished to get married to her boyfriend. When the father met the b...
A couple of years ago, during my time in Puerto Rico, I would go to a local video store to get my fill of the latest DVD’s. While there I came across several VHS movies that I had seen as a child, brought back lots of memories. One movie, however, caught my attention, a movie I had not seen in years. I remember seeing Howard The Duck for the first time when it first came out in 1986. Back then this kind of animation was top of the line to some of us. I loved the movie; it was funny, cool a...

Now that warm weather seems to be here to stay I have shaaved off the Winter beard and am back to my normal Summer look. I did keep the Fu Manchu style moustache but am otherwise clean shaven again. It'll take me a few days to get used to myself in the mirror again.

Mom seems to be doing well with her recovery from the surgery. They're sending a nurse twice a day to help maintain her tracheotomy tube and with the feeding (liquid diet). I'm glad a professional is coming around to prevent infec...

Spam in the Middle of Nowhere   Ok, some of you know I'm the admin on the GearHead wiki. Now, we don'thave a chronic problem with spam. It's just a small part of maintence. Our problem is this: Why are there spammers on a wiki that sees tenpeople a day? Including spammers, lurkers, and myself (and the fellowadmin), we have a population of about 50, but we have little traffic(or so I estimate) off the main page. So why bother spamming if youdon't have a link to yo...

It feels like I've been on earlies for about 2 months now, though it's probably only been about 3 weeks. I start anywhere from between 6 to 7:30 in the morning, and it sucks the most as far as transportation goes; for example, tomorrow morning I have to cab it in because the earliest bus still hasn't hit the downtown terminal by the time I'm supposed to login.

I took a couple of sick days this week as I had the stomach flu. Now, I'm not frivolous with my days off, but man, was it ever lovely ...

On my way home yesterday I made a quick stop to grab a bite to eat. As I was in a hurry I violated one of my own rules and stopped at a fast food joint; Arby's.

As far as fast food goes I think Arby's is a little better than most of them. When I walked up to the counter I saw a large sign that listed some specials for each day of the week. Yesterday's special was a buck off a combo meal. Cool. I ordered a combo, the girl rang it up, I paid thinking it seemed a tad high, and looked at my rec...
As Forest Gump puts it “It’s happens”, “Shit”, bad things happen to people unexpectedly. But how often does something very, very embarrassing happens to you? One time is more than enough as far as I’m concerned and it once happened to me. That was probably the worst day of my life, and it happened while I was a teen.

It happened about 17 years ago, I was about 15 years old. At the time I was living in Puerto Rico in a small town where everyone knew ...

I finally made it home this afternoon. I decided to drop my trailer atthe place where I park my truck and bobtail to my house to unload mygear and three months worth of dirty laundry since Mom's husband isbusy with her at the hospital. I figured that way all he would have todo is come and pick me up and not waste extra time while I unloaded allof my crap.

As I pulled onto the street I caught a glimpse of a car that lookedjust like Mom's with two people in it. I figured it couldn't be her'sa...

On Magic In Fiction   Now, I know this isn't the most controversial topic. I also know Iprobably have adressed it before, but I can't remember exactly where orwhen. I believe that all magic in real life comes from Satanic sources, not nature or God (for there will be more prophesies met before Godrestores power to His followers). I do believe, however, that infantastical works of literature, magic is a permissible inclusion. Forinstance, in Shadowrun or Lionheart...
No, I am not gonna give details here of myself that may prone a stalker to find me and maybe even try to kill me. But considering most here know very little about me, I would like to talk about myself a bit here.

I was born and raised in New Jersey and am of Puerto Rican background. I have always considered myself an American first, Puerto Rican second. I love my country and have always been proud to be American (even though being Puerto Rican would have still made me an American). I was l...

I'm watching Pride and Prejudice...again.  I think I was born in the wrong time or place.  I want my very own Mr. Darcy.  I want someone to declare that they love me...most ardently.  I want someone to tell me that I have bewitched them body and soul.  swoon.  Do you think I could convince some handsome British man to follow a script and dress in authentic Georgian costume?  Do you think I could find a man who would even understand what I mean when I say that I...
Yesterday I had a big serving of humble pie and revealed to much of the local running community just how much of a jerk I really am. Some of the businesses in town ran a mother's day cure for cancer race (entry fee plus money raised all goes to cancer research) so I figured I'd do it because I love to run, good cause and all that. I'm really not a competitive person.... I run just because I truly love it and 99% of the time I'm the nicest guy you'll meet o...

In the written language, there are few phrases that irritate me more than this: "I could care less."Why does it irritate me so?  Because it makes no sense.  It is often used in place of the original phrase (penned by the British) of "I couldn't care less."  This statement works.  It makes sense.  When I say it I mean exactly that: I care so little about [insert particular comment/rant/article/person here] that I actually could not care less.  That is to say, on my c...

(Just a little nod to Hall & Oates there, in case you didn't know...and the fact that I haven't written anything since late April)

~*~Speaking of music, I had students doing projects on a novel they were reading.  One of the projects they could choose to do was to make a CD cover based on the story...and choose songs that connected with the story.  Many chose the doo wop songs that had to do with the novel...and of course, you had students who chose today's popular songs.&n...
Being Spoiled on Mom's Day!

I had to wait for it but I got to eat breakfast in bed!  Of course that's not an unusual thing for me since my darling hubby likes to surprise me with breakfast in bed on Sunday Mornings....most of the time!

This morning I had to wait because he wasn't up as early as usual on a sunday morn, that might be because I was lying on top of him.....with my clothes on...get your mind out of the gutter! hahaha....I was cajoling him to get up and he likes wh...
