David J. Slater is the photographer who set up a monkey selfie shot (in 2011) and when it became a meme, requested Wikipedia to remove the monkey selfie with a DCMA letter. Wiki said, sorry but the photo is uncopyrightable since current law says

“The term ‘authorship’ implies that, for a work to be copyrightable, it must owe its origin to a human being. Materials produced solely by nature, by plants, or by animals are not copyrightable.” – Copyright Com...

Oliver Sacks was a British Neurologist. He was remarkable for his empathy and caring as well as his gift for using the English language so well as rare as that would seem, nowadays. He took care of patients in a Home for the elderly, as well as being a renowned author.

While the melanoma had spread to his liver, he never lost the qualities which endeared him to many. He wrote many essays and books about his patients, the brain and how it works, and the human condition.

Saw this (take a look at the 8 slides in the show)…as well as a notice about a 50 mile wide swarm of grasshoppers over Texas…and figured this might be the right time to say, “It’s been great! Fanx for the fish!”, if these events are a portent of something awful to come…

I, like many of you, am a huge Sci Fi fan and it all started with "Star Trek".  My kids grew up loving it and now my grand kids are following suit.

I admit it, I cried when they killed off Spock, and was overjoyed when they brought him back and felt as if a family member had passed when Leonard Nimoy died. Never missed an episode or a movie - and have them all.  First on VHS and now DVD and digital.

Never had the chance to meet him, or any of the actors for that matter. Com...

98 Rotten Tomatoes is a good indicator.

It's a heck of a ride from go to whoa....definitely a must-see.

Max has kinda a back-seat role to Charlize Theron's but she's much prettier, anyway.  It's worth it just to see her 'robotic''ll have you wondering if she cut off one 'for the cause'...

We saw it at the theatre at Highpoint....just a couple of miles from where Max's original Falcon was built at Duhig-Ford's Niddrie garage. ...
A used paperback book from 1970  - - selling for $160 should convey something.  I bought my copy way back when from either Ayn Rand's organization or from the related organization of her former lover, the recently deceased Nathaniel Branden, whose unique contribution to moral theory is reflected in my other blog here entitled "On Morals."
