This is a really cool MMO.

And unlike most other MMOs, this isn't about auto-pilot push button game play.

You have 100% control of your Gear.

Mass amounts of PVP, 2 nations at war with each other (God I love war).

If you like this and download the client (99% free but there is a cash shop)

Look for me in Helix Server BCU nation under this very nick, ShadowGryphon

And remember..........

HOLD YOUR COLOR!

So, Sunday marked the start of the eagerly anticipated start of the Open Beta for EA/Mythic's huge MMO Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

But all is not well in the kingdom of Denmark. In fact, things are downright rotten. While the start of the beta went almost without hitches in the U.S. and Oceania, the European beta start has become an ongoing nightmare for developer Mythic and their European customers.

To maintain the server infrastructure and handle the accounts and billing for...
I downloaded and played a game called "Lost Chaos" from Aeria Games and found a hidden social net. I was looking one day for a MMORPG to play online and I gravitate to the fantasy RPG type game types. I found this game and web site www.aeriagames.com  and I downloaded "Lost Chaos". I was very pleasantly surprised to say the least.

The game download was fast and simple and the installation (on my Vista Ultimate system) was seemless. The system uses a loader and the program boots up into a...

Crossfire is an open-source MMORPG. It can be played on almost any platform (Java, Open Source, platform-specific compiles). It's downside? It's hard to learn. "apply" uses everything, and it can be a little daunting, and limiting, to have one interaction with most everything. However, once you get past the limited interactions and minor confusion, it's a fun game. It plays a lot like a roguelike without key-command binds, though you could, if you really wanted to, make your own binds (th...

Star Wars Galaxies, the prime rival to World of Warcraft and mind-child of LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment, is celebrating its fifth year of gameplay. The popular MMO, based on (you guessed it) the Star Wars's universe, has reached a major milestone. Along with its popular sister games, EverQuest, EverQuest II, and The Matrix Online, SWG on its own has over 100,000 subscribers (estimate, don't sue me). The In-Game community is celebrating Empire Day (the IG name for the anniversary) with...

I don't know how many of you are familiar with the greatest of MMORPGs, Kingdom of Loathing. It's been a while since I'd played, and I'd lost all my old accounts because it had been sixty days since I'd signed in.

So I created a new account, sad to have lost all my efforts on my old ones, but glad to play the game again. Because it's a new character with almost no stuff still, my meat (the money of the KoL universe) is pretty low. But as I was adventuring in the Sleazy Back Alley, some doc...

My ten year old son is playing Knights on line World (KOL) right now for free.

I sit with him and watch him play a lot.  (He is a mage...pfft, he gets killed alot as he can only take ONE hit..hehe....) His real life friends play too and so far they are having a good time in the same clan.

EXCEPT (isn't there always one of these? heh.), the servers are busy a lot and getting on can be a real pain in the butt.

The site offers a "premium" service, which of course you pay for.

I was...

Yes, yes, I'm only six days late on this. And it'll probably be significantly shorter than the previous ones, but, hey. Gift horse, baby.

Guild Wars -- Publisher: NCSoft, Developer: ArenaNet
Back in the days of yore, when MMORPG gamers were regarded with a kind of label best defined as "Oh my God, I can't believe you're paying extra-per-month to play a silly number game -- nerd," there were a select few MMORPGs that were actually worth paying for. And, to this particular guy, there still ar...

ok....so....I had Eve Online about 2 1/2 years ago...

I remember liking the game, but other games came out and well, I just got distracted and just kinda stopped playing. I think it was Star Wars Galaxies, maybe, that took me away from Eve.

I also remember different people on the message boards and different magazines saying that Eve would fall apart and not last a year. I recently reinstalled Star Wars Galaxies to check out the New Game Enhancement...Bad, bad mistake. So, I figured I wa...

So, it seems that after a few deaths, Asia and it's game loving people are going to have a hefty withdraw as early as October of this year.

After the untimely death of a small child while the child's parents left the child alone to go to a internet cafe to get in a few hours of World of Warcraft, the powers that be decided that it was time to put a end to video game related deaths. As early as October of this year Asian governments have asked widely played MMORPG makers, Blizzard in particula...
Okay,so it wasn't a "death" threat, per se. It was an "ill fucking kick ur ass" threat. Still.

Full story begins.... now.

I'm currently a male Turtle Tamer, softcore ascension, oxygenarian. As a side distraction (to the larger, main distraction that is the game itself), I'm active in the PvP area. I make a habit of retaliating on those who are foolish enough to attack me and lose. I mean, why would I throw myself at someone who can beat me, you know?

Hello everybody.

Almost all of the MMORPG community could agree with me that allmost all MMORPG's dont actually have you, The player making an impact on the world/universe/whatever arround you. Sure, You can give your avatar clothes and armor, Or buy a new fancy weapon but, The players actually cant make anything totaly customised for them.

I have envisaged for a long time, An online game where traditional play and a player-shaped world can meet in a perfect, Bug free harmony, But instead ...
I was at a forum a few days ago, and a came across a certain video, which brought back a lot of memories for me as a someone who has played on quite a few MUDs in the past. Even though this video is from the World or Warcraft, it made me remember all the foolish, idiotic players I had grouped with in the past. Of course, most of these people's idiocy aren't broadcast for the rest of the world to see and enjoy.

Basically, the cliffnotes for this little episode is a group called Pals for Life ...

I've been shanghai'd by Puzzle Pirates. Link. I've been hearing about it from random sources - including Evil Stevie himself - for a while. Finally a couple of friends of mine sucked us into it. The company that makes it just recently added a micropayments model to their previous (quite reasonable) $10/mo subscription model. Since I might go for a while without playing, this is a good idea (I basically only pay for the time I play, and basic gameplay is FREE

Anyway, that's why I haven't been...
Mr.Smedley, As a community member and paying customer, I appreciate your recent statement regarding the Combat Upgrade and the future of Star Wars Galaxies. You show merit in displaying an interest in feedback from your customers. With the recent exodus of paying customers from the game, many suggestions, opinions and specualtions have been offered as to the why people are dissatisfied. It is my hope that this letter will help clarify some of the basic issues people are having with Star Wars Gal...
