I know this may seem a bit racist and discriminatory, but I have to ask why the heck tech firms are so hot and bothered to get a boost in H-1B visa's so that they can hire more foreign born IT workers?!

Let me start off by saying I do not agree with or encourage piracy. That being said We have 3 computers in our home and we aren't by any mean's rolling in the dough here. The way I see it a person should be able to get software or games use them on all of their home PC's. I don't want to be forced to buy 3 copies of the same game just so we can all play togather. It's like asking me to purchase 3 copies of the same movie so all 3 of my family members have the right to watch the DVD. It's kinda s...

I have a friend that wants me to order her one of these Teeshirts, but I'm just not sure if it's going to work...I was wondering if anyone has tried it out yet?
Its now official. CompUSA has pulled out of the retail store business game. But are they a whole new business now that they are online only? The answer is no. Ever since the System Max acquisition of CompUSA, The only thing new to CompUSA is a site face lift... Wait.. haven't I seen that site layout before? The new CompUSA is nothing more then a TigerDirect.com with the CompUSA label slapped onto it. So there you have it. CompUSA once again does nothing to surprise us

Ever since I started using a tabletPC I've wanted a Wacom tablet.  The PC I have is nice enough but the screen is too small and it wasn't designed for art work.  It can get the job done, but it's just not there.

But now . . .I just don't know.  I worry about direction and goals when i see things like this.

"Wacom, the Japanesecompany responsible for the addictive tablets — try to pry one from anydesigner and you will suffer the consequences — unveiled a new identityand brand...

I'm not one for shameless promotions. Gimmicks just don't do it for me. But every once in awhile, there is a project that I can get behind.

My children do not know it yet, but they will be getting a brand new laptop for Christmas. Why such an extravagent gift? Because of what we are really giving.

Beginning on November 12, the One Laptop per Child program will be offering a "Give one, Get one" promotion through their website. Details can be found at: http://www.xogiving.org/ . When&nb...

Today, Palm announced it was canceling the Foleo, which has been labeled as a "mobile companion" that would be used inconjunction with a smartphone. While it was an interesting concept, youwere better off picking up a cheap laptop for the price it was going tobe offered at.

On the official Palm Blog, CEO Ed Colligan stated the following:

"In the course of the past several months, it has become clear that the right path for Palmis to offer a single, consistent user experience around thi...

I read an interesting article on the impending death, uh, sale of Gateway to Acer.  Gateway is a computer manufacturer that is best known for their spotted (like cows) boxes that their computers used to ship in.  Spotted boxes to look like cows because the computers that Gateway made were put together in the mid west, where you'd expect to find cattle, rather than a high tech manufacturer.

Gateway was, at one point in time, one of the largest computer manufacturers in the U.S.A.&nbs...

What happens when your Uninteruptible Power Supply fails?  Kind of ironic, yes?

No, we are not talking about dead batteries.  Or a power outage that lasts too long.  We are talking about a UPS that failed.  And brought down an entire agency.  2500 stand alone PCs and another 15,000 users wondering why they cant get anywhere.

It happened.  Why?  A comedy of errors and ignorance.  Of a general services group that apparently does not understand tha...

Microsoft Office is pretty much the standard office suite for businesses and many home users, even though the popularity of alternatives such as OpenOffice and the presence of online applications such asGoogle Docs.

Well there's the chance now that a new major player could put its feet in the "Office" waters, and that could be Adobe.  The company best know for Photoshop and its Creative Suites threw out the possibility that an Office platform could be in its future, although there was no...

Two companies that we're dealing with at my 'day job' are proving that the adage that 'you get what you pay for' couldn't be more wrong.

You see, the customer of my employer, the people that pay my employer for myself and my co-workers to work for them, pay us good money to get the jobs done quickly and efficiently.  We do our best to make that happen, but there are times when we are, like our customer, left waiting for someone else to provide support for our efforts.  Support that ...

So, I promised a rant on my laptop. Not yet. But I WILL rag on other people's computers, and probably come across as moany and bitchy and suchlike. But I feel like letting this out, so bear with me here.

PC games reviewers. We love them, we hate them, we laugh at their snide comments, and we buy games they tell us not to. I don't hate them, but I envy them and the companies that make the games they review. For one reason. PC envy.
