KHAN BANI SA¡¯AD, Iraq ¨C The Iraqi children were full of smiles as they competed for the attention of the cavalry scout Soldiers of 1st Platoon, Troop A, 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, Aug. 29, in Kahn Bani Sa¡¯ad, Iraq. Their laughter rang clear as they traded, passed and inspected the toys the Soldiers handed out to them during a patrol of the village.

The smiles and laughter would be short lived, however, as the mission quickly intensified.

Hmmm better pull out before they actually do some good for these people. Oopppss can't they already have. Oh well lets try and pull out anyway.

FORWARD OPERATING BASE HAMMER, Iraq – Coalition troops teamed with Iraqi policemen and concerned local citizens to rid a major road of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and al-Qaeda cell members during a two-day operation in Tuwaitha.

The purpose of the mission was to not just clear the route, but to also establish an Iraqi capability to keep...
Here are the facts filtered out of Gen Petraeus's Statement for those that are to lazy to read the entire transcript or to busy to listen to the testimony, or plain just don't care enough to put any effort into listening to what is going on in the War on Terror in Iraq, (this would be about 95% of the American Public): I.        General Petraeus Opening Statements: A.        The most significant development of t...

I was just reading through the transcript of the "newest" bin lade tape, and if you take out the references to islam it's almost hard to tell if this speech was written by bin laden, or someone on the left.  The rhetoric from this tape is amazing as it's full of the usual leftist rants which would include global warming, capitalism, Bush, etc.  I think the only similarity I didn't see is references to Fox News.
Well with the Sept. 15th Iraq Report coming I am not surprised by all the pre-emptive strikes being made by the media. Many are trying to point out that things have not met “goals” that were set. Well that’s all fine and good, if you were the one that set the goals. But looking at just what has gone on for the last couple of months since the “surge” operation happened you find some very positive things going on.In a August 28th briefing Maj. Gen. Caldwell, spokesman for the Multi-national Forces...

As a campaign adviser to one candidate seeking nomination for the 2008 Presidential election, you have been asked to write a brief position paper on the question of whether the United States should redouble its efforts to negotiate a consensus definition of terrorism. What should the US position be and why?

In creating a comprehensive, workable look forward for the United States’ (US) counterterrorism effort, it is vital that the US take the lead. It is in America’s best interest to help th...
Yesterday, a young man in his 20's was attending a meeting with a Community Group of his fellow New Yorkers and a small group of Iraqi's. The Iraq's were there to help the NYers understand their way of life. While the group was standing outside the meeting place and getting redy to move inside a man wearing a jacket, and not part of the group approached. The young man mentioned above spotted him and was suspicious that the man may be wearing a suicide bomb vest, so he moved to him and pushed the ...
In recent days (and months... and years...) there has been a lot of speculation and judgment regarding accountability for 9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, and other events which were either fueled by or were a result of "faulty" intelligence. "9/11 happened because the President ignored valuable intelligence!" "Colin Powell and George Bush lied to the American people about WMD in Iraq!" "Why haven't we gotten Osama?"

The constant speculation as to "What did you know and when did you know it?" and ...
For my 500th Article (my gosh have I really done that many??!?!) I wanted to start out with my YouTube Channel, 3rdID8487, which has had over 130,000 video views since March 15th , 2007! A little over 1000 views a day! In addition I have been able to connect 20+ military families with videos or photos of their loved ones in Iraq or Afghanistan. What a treat that has been, the e-mails I have gotten have been priceless and made all the time and effort spent searching, downloading, copying and uplo...
The Border Patrol's job is no longer to stop people from sneaking across the border. Its exclusive role is to fight terrorism rather than stopping illegal immigration and the flow of narcotics. Carlos X. Carillo, Chief Patrol Agent of the Laredo Sector for the US Border Patrol, said this in a Laredo town hall meeting. From the Laredo Morning Times:

"The Border Patrol is not equipped to stop illegal immigrants," Carrillo said, noting that illegal narcotics are also not on the agents priorit...

The Iraq NIE was released a few days ago, and here is the link to the actual report, not the biased media headlines and DNC talking points as some here have already started to use.
The preconception regarding terrorism is that it is a poor man’s last hope – that only the dispossessed and desperate cling to violence. However, the demographics of the perpetrators of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 tell a different story: modern, intelligent, educated, and well-off members of society who were attracted to jihad. These men felt such violence was justified because this was part of a larger campaign against the US and the West in the name of Allah. They had been ed...
Of course there will be absolutely no mention of this in the mainstream media.. but at least you can read it here..

An Iraqi man saved the lives of four U.S. Soldiers and eight civilians when he intercepted a suicide bomber during a Concerned Citizens meeting in the town of al-Arafia Aug. 18. (Do you notice the "Concerned Citizens" meeting part?)

The incident occurred while Soldiers from 3rd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, were talking with members of the al-Arafia Concerned Cit...

Since liberals think something Cheney said back in '94 about Iraq still applies today, then let's apply that same logic to the democrats.

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with theU.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, ifappropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respondeffectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons ofmass destruction programs." -- From a letter signed by Joe Lieberman,Dianne ...
