Obama’s becoming a resident of Chicago impelled him to join the ranks of the Black community and its streets if he were to ever become a public figure. His joining the most popular church also became inevitable if he were to draw on black connections. After all, he was born into white culture and because of his mother’s travels in a sense he became a world citizen, if not a nomad . He cannot be faulted for wanting to belong, particularly having married a black woman. Being highly int...
One thing you must give credit to Clinton’s campaign is that she has toughened Obama to look beyond the “fairy tale” of change and to admit to the full range of many cultures of the Democratic Party. Far from being a drain on the strength of the party she has actually highlighted the undercurrent forces of Democrats who are not liberal elitists and also need a voice. As a young man voting for Adlai Stevenson twice I learned the hard way that glowin...
Biofuels: A Hoax
I’m guilty of thinking alternative fuels as a panacea until I realized that many of them require disproportionately more energy to produce. In the case of biofuel it not only consumes more energy but frighteningly jeopardizes food abundance, ending in price gouging. Plus the increased use of fertilizers draining off into the Gulf creating health hazards and depleting fish life.
By ignoring soil preservation farmers are wrecking the planet by relea...
So I've done a little thinking over the last few days (hey! every now and then it happens
) and I started thinking that perhaps the Democratic primary season that never ends may be part of a grander plan, perhaps even rising to the conspiracy level. Now, please don't assume I'm a tin-foil hat wearing X-Files type individual that always sees conspiracies in everything going on around him. I'm far from it, and I really don't think my thoughts (that I'm about to share) on the seemingly un-ending Democratic nomination process reflect any real conspiracy, but... I have to suggest that in many ways things are playing out for the Democratic party about as well as they could ever hope for.
So Hillary Clinton gives an interview to the folks at USA Today and stupidly makes comments that make her sound like 'the racist's choice for President'.
To get the quote's right, I'm headed (and point you) straight to the source, or at least the source that had the words that will be quoted below. In this case, see: Clinton makes case for wide appeal in USA Today (or, in Hillary's case, perhaps it's Racism in USA Today.
This whole argument just drives me crazy. So much for transcending race or the post-racial candidate. Race is as big as an issue as any in this current campaign. According to the linked article, if Hillary Clinton says she's "more electable" that is some kind of secret code for "I'm more electable because I am white". This is such and complete and utter bullshit. Why is the fact that 90% of blacks are voting for the black candidate not considered racist? I gue...
It is short,. to the point. but truly means nothing.
All I have see is Yes we can: lose the war,
Yes we can raise taxes on the most of productive of Americans while awarding beer swilling trailer trash. I she with 5 kids, who will one day grow up to be just like moms and pops. You see they understand one thing and one thing only, with the Republican controlling both the house of Congress and a President that agrees with them, no more gravy train for them!
Yes we can ! spend a tota...
I caught a little bit of the Bush press conference on energy and the economy yesterday, and I also caught some of the Rush Limbaugh show afterwards. Love him or hate him, he managed to make some valid points on the reality of energy prices and the economy. I also heard the democrats reaction to Bush's speech, and once again confirmed how clueless they really are.
One of the biggest arguements from the democrats regarding the economy is "record profits" from the oil companies. ...
Who has the most to lose if Barack Obama is elected president? Why is Reverend Jeremiah Wright so set to bring down the possible election of the first black president? Why is he so vocal about his association with Louis Farrakhan, and why right now? Now back to the origional question of who has the most to lose if we have the first black president? What do these two men have in common and what do they lose if Obama is elected?
They lose there hate message that they both make a living from, as...
Something needs to change! It really is time for Obama to take a good look and realize that he's no longer the front runner. He hasn't won a primary since February. For all the talk of his oratory skills, he didn't win the last debate. He keeps alienating people whose votes he should be trying to win. I don't think people really want to vote for someone who thinks they are "bitter and clinging to God, guns and antipathy for people who aren't like them".&nb...
It's another great day to be a Hillary supporter. She has been written off and told to go away but look what keeps happening. She's still getting votes. She's still winning primaries. Today she is leading McCain in the polls by 9 points. She whooped Obama in the last debate so badly that now he's afraid to debate her again. "No mas, Hillary" Obama cries. Hillary is nothing if she isn't tough and resilient. She can take a punch and come back for mor...
Despite the Republicans doing nothing but damaging the economy, ruining the reputation of the United States across the world and getting us into a disastrous war in Iraq, the Democrats may still lose the Presidency.
Obama needs to take the bold step and tell the American people the real facts that conservative America have distorted of the years.
We don't live in a democracy or a republic. We live in a corporate controlled obliarchy. The laws and rules are set up to ensure that a tiny perc...
Congrats to Hillary for pulling off a win yesterday in the Penn. primary. I hope that Operation Chaos helped, and I really hope you stay in until the convention. Go Hillary!
Oh, why do I favor Hillary over Obama? Well at least I know all about Hillary and what she is about, I can't say the same for Obama and that is just worse.
For the last week or so, the media can't seem to get over the so-called "baised" democratic debate between Hillary and Obama. I believe Hillary got hit with software questions, but then again, look at who the moderators were.
Was Obama treated unfairly? I don't think so, and really don't care. Obama had a terrible performance in the debate and had a very hard time explaining anything related to his ties to the racist Wright, and the domestic terrorist Ayers. As I have ...
Whatever you want to say about Obama, that he is not liberal is not one of them. In classic liberal fashion, Obama has again decided that it is not the results that count, but the intentions.
When asked about Capital gains taxes by Charlie Gibson, Obama stumbled and fumbled and then basically said raising taxes was not about revenue. No, it was about "fairness".
GIBSON: You said on CNBC, and I quote, "I certainly would not go above what existed...
