Yesterday, Stardock had it’s annual Ugly Christmas Sweater contest. These are the….umm…

Angie (KarmaGirl), Emily, Brad (Frogboy), and Brad (The_Gear). We also can’t forget Arrow the office dog.

Lets give them a big round of…..applause.
Last year we released zilch.  No new games, no new apps.  It was a year of building.

This year, things start to get interesting.

Let’s take a look at just this Winter:

February: Offworld Trading Company goes into Early Access

March: Sorcerer King is scheduled for release

April: Galactic Civilizations III is scheduled for release

And we still have two more games that are unannounced that are going to be shown at GDC.
Hi team! Here are some of the pics.  I think Bruce or someone might have a lot more pics, these are some of the ones I got.

First off, I apologize for not getting more. I’m not a good photographer. If any of you (Stardockians) want to send me photos to put up, go ahead and I’ll update.

GalCiv III team! Well, some of them anyway.

This picture makes me feel 20 years older.  I’ve known the little ones parents since they ...

I bring you fear, death, pestilence and candy. Virtual candy anyway!

Just some highlights of today’s Halloween at Stardock:

Our lead 3D programmer on Sorcerer King dresses up like Tandis for Halloween! The lead designer of the Sorcerer King website is a fierce warrior! The man in charge, Derek “Kael” Paxton is a great buddy! GalCiv III lead designer, Paul “Mormegil” Boyer is a smooth operator. My son…is…I’m not sure. He made this and it’s s...

On behalf of the Stardock family I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
My day job is in Michigan at the Stardock building in Plymouth (just outside Ann Arbor).  But we’ve got a bunch of activity going on in the Baltimore area with the launch of Oxide Games and Mohawk Games.

Rather than living in hotels for weeks at a time, I decided that we would buy a house in Maryland (Towson).  If you know any game developers or artists in Maryland who are looking to work on really cool stuff, apply here:

Ignore what ...

Gamasutra talks to Brad Wardell about the Stardock Staffing Company, and the idea behind it.  It’s a fantastic read on how Stardock is trying to change the practices of game project staffing, and making it better for everyone.

"Dubbed the Stardock Staffing Company (SSC), the new unit, comprising a small network of studios that Stardock has invested in, is essentially a professional employer organization, or PEO, for game developers."

Stardock’s Derek Paxton talks with the folks over at about the making of Dead Man’s Draw and the motivation behind moving into the mobile game market.

“You need only talk to Derek Paxton, vice president of Stardock Entertainment, for the briefest amount of time to realise just what a deep love and understanding of strategy games he has.

Indeed, it's this keen appreciation for the genre that has helped put the US developer on the map.

November 14, 2013 by Island Dog on ID's place to speak talks to Derek Paxton about Stardock and the games industry.  It’s a great interview which covers a good range of what’s going on in the game industry, and the writer has a fantastic summary at the end.

“Gilleous (Edward): Thank you for answering a few of our questions. First off, congratulations on your 20th Anniversary, Stardock has come a long way. What do you believe were some of the most valuable lessons the company has learnt about the gaming industry?

Stardock's Brad Wardell talks to Polygon about the next-gen in a new piece up on Polygon today.

“On the eve of the launch of the PlayStation 4, and a week out from the launch of the Xbox One, Polygon spoke with developers and publishers who are skeptical about how the new consoles will perform. There was a common thread in their thoughts: that next-gen might not actually be about the consoles.”
