The photos that were exhibited in Naked Tokyo 2008 are up on the nakedtokyo.com site.  My photos can be found here.  For the last little while I have been working on urban nightscapes.     My artist's statement: The "Yoru no Sojourn" series examines solo nocturnal journeys through Tokyo's urban landscapes. At night, the ambient light can transform mundane, ordinary places into something strange and mysterious. Our sense of place is so strongly informed by our da...
I've been interested in doing isolation shots and still life for a while. I was really interested in using a light tent to do some of the work. Way too much money, though. I wanted to shoot fairly large objects, say a vase instead of a watch, but the light tents I was interested in ran to 350-500 dollars.  I've been reading a lot of photography web sites. Favorites are studiolighting.net and strobist.com. If you haven't checked them out, you should. One of the valuable lessons gained ...
I've been doing a lot of on-line tutorials about how to make a website on Dreamweaver and using Illustrator.  I'm really enjoying the process.  I'm so excited that I'm going to be able to start producing some of the ideas that have been kicking around in my head for a long time. I'm spending so much time trying to get the hang of this stuff that my butt hurts from sitting in the chair.  My legs fall alseep and if I try to walk I fall in a tangled puddle of useless muscle. On...
Hyperborean Wanderer wasn't impressed but I've wanted to try to do this shot for a long time and I finally got my shot on Sat.  I've been begging all the pregnant chicks in Texas to let me try it and my friend Leila's boy was the first to arrive!  (3 weeks early too!) Woo Hoo!  I love how it turned out but I can already see where I can improve it....so someone else needs to have a baby!
These are some of the reasons that I have not been around Joeuser lately. I decided to launch my Photography business.....Photos of the Heart. So here are a few. View slideshow and 'cause I have to post pics of my kids....One day I will get them to hold still for real pics....

Well, it has been a long, long, long time since I have written anything here. My bad. I have just been so busy. But the main reason I am here today is to put out a plea and cry for help. I teach after school classes in photography to grades 3-8. I am not a licensed teacher; this is why my classes are offered after school and on a volunteer basis. Within 2 years the art studio I work for (financed by the public school district) will move to a different building. All the art depts. that...

His most recent professional credit is the photos on the new KMFDM live CD (he's been a friend to and a fan of the band for years). He also mentors young aspiring photographers (like my friend Jackie, who is turning out some impressive work on her own). He specializes in black and white nudes. So parental discresio...

I was on medical leave from work for 3 weeks.  I got really bored after awhile because there wasn't much I could do.  So, I started looking on eBay for photo studio stuff.  If you ever decide to start a studio, use eBay for some of the basics.  You can get new backgrounds and props for basically 1/3 wholesale.  I bought a 10' x 20' scenic muslin for $70.  It wholesales for $269 and retails for over $300.  I also bought some other props, then used them...
