Sachin of Shivaji Park By PRANAY GUPTE I’ve lived away from my birthplace of Mumbai since I was 17 years old, but whenever I’m back I always make it a point to visit Shivaji Park. Each visit is always nourishing because each visit always reinforces in my mind how much Mumbai’s Maharashtrian culture shapes its cricket. It’s a culture that, above all, emphasizes the work ethic, and it’s a culture – anchored in one’s family – that demands...

After several days of public disturbances, California law enforcement placed Amanda Bynes under 5150 psychiatric hold on Monday night, the New York Daily News and Associated Press report. The 27-year-old allegedly "started a small fire in the driveway of a home" in Thousand Oaks, California, prompting local authorities to compel a psychiatric evaluation. The 5150 hold is the same 72-hour emergency psychiatric order a 26-year-old Britney Spears underwent in 2008. The night before the drivew...

even if when no one loves you even if when no one is beside you it's only you who has to choose what to do or what not to do always keep in mind that there is someone, someone wrapping a love for you love does not measure your attitude but it measures how how much caring you are a touch, a feel, a hug, a remembrance is enough to make someone realise how much you love him whether he is living in your heart or living far amongst star

I’m writing again, after a two year break.  It’s rough, like starting over.  Ugh.  But, I’m well into a tale of death, revenge, and redemption.  This chapter is a work-in-progress.  Posting it here helps keep me motivated.   ------------------------------------------------------------ Arnica slipped the black 9mm with a leather grip into the battered Nike gym bag. The sound of the zipper ripped through the silence of the motel room. She ha...

Today, the bottled water has become a rage among the people as according the perspective of most of the people; the packaged water is pure and is free from any kind of dope. In the tourist countries like Samoa, the demand of bottled water is far higher than the other countries. Most of the tourists that visit the Isle of Island depend on packaged water to satiate their quench. In order to fulfill the ever increasing demands of the bottled water, umpteen manufactures has joined the bandwagon and ...

This was it.  The defining moment.  The critical juncture. Take the ride?  Or pass?  She climbed into the vintage red pick-up, set the army green backpack (much heavier now than when she struck out on her 18th birthday), between battered ruby tennis shoes.  “Broker,” she gave the driver a slight smile.  “I’m heading to Broker.” White walls kicked up a trail of New Mexico dust as they pulled onto Highway Seven. “...

You do anything long enough to escape the habit of living until the escape becomes the habit. David Ryan Sugar and spice and everything nice that's what little girls are made of.  Houston, we have a problem with this anatomy and physiology theory.  The problem arises when a sweet heart with a sweet tooth and a double X chromosome falls into the pit of despair clinging to the last link on the DNA chain, screaming, pleading and begging for the snips and snails and puppy dog tails ...

Where have I been? Well, I was in Utah for a couple of day.  I've just barely recovered from the 11 hour drive there and 11 hours back. So the question is have I been working on the book or the writer's block project.  The answer is no.  Have I been watching too much Netflix?  Is their too much Netflix.  I've been binging on horror flix, most of which were quite terrible, but a few decent ones.  If you're curious I can recommend a few.  The interesting an...

Project Typist I still haven't gotten around to trying out the exercise and writing experiment.  Mostly because I'd prefer to be alone when I did it.  I have this crazy image in my head what I would look like; sitting in front of my computer furiously typing for 15 minutes then suddenly I get up and start doing jumping jacks.  After after 50 repetitions I stop and go back to my computer.  This happens 8 times all the while I'm focused on my own little world not say...

Project Typist The other day I was having a conversation with my wife about scheduling.  More specifically about how I'm always trying to make or get on a schedule and then consequently getting frustrated.  Which in retrospect is true, though I can never quite figure out what went wrong.  I usually just blame the situation and people for being so unpredictable.  Not to say that I'm not right but I could possibly be semi-wrong.  My wife suggested that the crux ...

Project Typist I've begun to believe that my current lifestyle is not cohesive with a regular schedule.  This makes it nearly impossible to set a consistent work time thus making it this section of the experiment impractical.  With that said, For me, schedule writing is a bad system to counter act writers block. Even if I pretended that I had a normal day, coming home from work, having dinner then sitting at a desk to write, I still don't think its a good system.  ...

Project Typist Sometimes nothing works out. After a long time, a few interruptions and a lot of thought the system of scheduled writing needs to be more complex.  At least for this experiment.  The reality of life is that I can't say that every day I will be free from this time to this time.  Perhaps it's just my life but I think that isn't very likely.  I think that there is no guarantee for any artist that they can control the world. Well... Other than ignor...
