OK, so I am in the market for a new set of headphones with a mic for my PC gaming. My previous headset got busted which is why I am contemplating wireless. I tend to lean toward Logitech as their products have always served me well with the exception of one set of headphones I got several years ago which I returned because the whole noise-cancelling feature only canceled my like for it. I ended up getting the Logitech ClearChat Style Headset and it worked perfectly except the cable eventually ga...
If you’re old enough to remember playing Dungeons and Dragons, you probably have stories to tell. A very talented friend from college, David Nett, is writing/directing/producing a web series based on such a tale. He’s not alone of course, there are many people involved in creating a web series*. If D & D was once your thing, is still your thing, or you just want to see what the heck a web series looks like…check it out, the (pilot) first episode is barely 5 ...
Better late than never, but earlier than anticipated So I was able to get my hands on a copy of Black Ops a few weeks before I had decided to get it and I was totally stoked about it. I bought the DVD version as oppose to the online because I couldn’t use my gift cards online due to not having enough on a single card to buy the game and Steam would not allow multiple cards to be used at once to pay the game in full, so Walmart was my next option. Although many would rather have the game do...
I love the Call of Duty series. I started with COD2 and from there on have been a avid fan ever since. I even eventually joined a clan and became part of an excellent group of people who also love playing Call of Duty games plus several others. The Call of Duty series was great up until Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare; after this Treyarch kinda thru the Call of Duty into a spin with Call of Duty World at War. The game was not my favorite and most of my friends agreed. It just was not as good...
Hello all blogging peeps, just thought I would blog about this as it has consumed most of my free time in the past week. I got Fallout New Vegas last week and I have just sat down over the weekend and really got into it. Some things about the game that I found good. One- you can change the difficulty at any point in the game. Its even fun on easy and you will die a few times for sure. The graphics are next and don't lag down ...
Blizzard, in their infinite stupidity, decided to NOT allow anyone to buy the game until it was actually released on 7-27-2010 at 10am PDT (thats noon exactly for us in central time)... I dreaded what would come, and I was right, their credit card billing crashed and was unable to process the orders... I finally got through on 5:30pm... Yay, I thought, finally I can play... well, not so fast, there was a 0-day patch, and it just went into a loop of asking me to patch, saying ok, and then a...
As some may know I was one of the first to bitch about the short comings of Infinity Wards Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Seeing most of my friends playing the game on PC I found myself leftout and with little choice by to give in and get the game. For the most part I don't regret the buying the game. I still think it's BS that dedicated servers were left out of the game (sorta) but the game itself has been pretty good. The amount of hackers was truly annoying almost to the point of not wanting ...
A while back, I was excited that a new Call of Duty game was coming soon. Modern Warfare 2. After reading reviews on the game I found out the game was not gonna be as good as I hoped (see my own opinion on the game here). Suffice it to say I was not happy with some of the features the game was lacking. I eventually bought the game as many of my friends (mostly my brothers and sisters in my gaming clan) were playing it and I felt left out. I can't deny that I like the game a lot but am still disa...
Shenanigans, that's the word my online gaming clan (Brotherhood-Clan) friends and I repeated over and over as we found out that Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2 PC version will not have dedicated servers and no ability to play mods on it. IWNET will replace dedicated servers by turning the PC version into a console type of game play. As a fan of the Call of Duty Series, I had my copy reserved just for the fun of it but now am gonna go to GameStop and ask for my money back. Unless InfinityWard d...
My son (age 13) is saving for one of these consoles and I want to help him figure out which one would be best for him. Based on what I have read so far it seems like the 360 would be the better choice. It has a lot more games and I have read that their online stuff is better. It will be connected with component cables to a 36" CRT wide-screen TV with 1080i resolution. I don't know anything else about these consoles, so any help is appreciated.
Some friends of mine put together a new web series about gamers... --"Elite athletes. Cunning strategists. Ruthless adversaries. It takes great endurance to survive in the cut-throat world of Professional Role Playing Gamers. Can you take the hits?" GAMERS! Especially if you have roots in D&D, take a gander at this hilarious new web series called GOLD. The first 6 episodes are up on the Gold website, the second part of the season is in production. ...
Recently, I completed the single-player story mode in Saints Row 2 and I have to say, while many criticized the marketing by THQ comparing it to Grand Theft Auto IV, I had a lot more fun with this game than I have with any GTA game I've played before. In fairness, I haven't played the latest iteration in that series, but if it's very similar to the others, and I can't believe it isn't, then I'll stand by my statement. Of course, the Saints Row series, like several other games, is a kno...
Although I wasn't born yet, I don't ever recall Pong having a tutorial. The arcade classics that birthed this industry were often simple enough that many people figured how to play the game in a matter of seconds. Even the more "complex" features of Galaga were demystified by a few minutes of game play and chance shots. Game manuals and tutorials were simply not necessary for the majority of gamers in the classic days of the arcade. Generally, a few words from a friend that had spent about an ho...
This is a short post for me, but I was wondering if anyone out there has ahad a chance to play Cities XL via their beta? I know I have signed up, but have not been offered a chance to play yet. I was wondering if anyone out there has, or if it's not opened up yet. I am very excited for this game, although I am really going to miss the organic feeling you get that comes from zoning and not plopping. Thanks, JD
