What is truly an irritation is that too many blogs either do not show the actual date of a blog entry or, if you are lucky at all, shoehorn it into some remote corner. Usually after the sponsor's banner ad. So, I find a neat bit on something technical. It describes a product or software that perhaps I would really like. The date up at the top is today's date though (big indication of possible outdated data) If I am lucky there is a comment dated three years ago along the lines of, "Ge...

Hello all,  I am new to this site.  I liked some ratings I saw online for this site.  So here I am.  I am not much of a blogger but would like to learn more about it, plus got a lot of things to share with the rest of you, if you are willing to read and comment.  First off I need some friends so help me out here.   Second is there anyway to customize your site, like change the background and adding photos and other cool things. ...

Apa kabar kawan-kawan semuanya ? Selamat memulai latihan pertama
Here's something that I've been noticing:  Preface: Remember how, in the '60's, every major highway crossing or freeway entrance ramp would be home to a cluster of kids with signs "San Francisco or busted," "NY/NY", etc.  Then the killings started, of which the Hillside Strangler was only the best known.  According to a police beat reporter who I used to see at a local bar in Long Beach in the late '70's, every week they were finding kid's bodies up in the hills.&n...
Without lying to people, and giving false information, what would make the below experiment work better (more people taking part?). Aside from increasing the number each person sends the message too? Suggestions are welcome and your internet insights are also going to be looked at by my class. This was the experiment, the below e-mail was sent by my students to 2 people by each student only: The Social Network Explosion and Distributed Network Information Possibilities, how can...
If you work with people online, I’ve not found anything that touches the recent versions of Skype. Skype has gotten so good that I almost feel like they should change its name because a lot of people have come to remember Skype as being that thing for doing crappy video and audio calling.  Over the past year it has become, imo, the best chat program (text, voice, video, whatever) out there.

I know, it really estimates the heterolevel, but it didnt make as good a title. I wouldn't take it literally, but it's fun. (Oh, click the link... obviously.)   IslandDog, I already tested you... 68% Hetero... I'm sure you had no idea!! Zoomba and Zubaz at 61% Hetero. I'm 73% hetero... so I beat you all   Impulsedriven is 1% Hetero!!! So I guess everyone who has claimed "Impulse is gay" was right  (Assuming it's male)

(From Sam Terrapin's Blog at Skinartistry)  The next time you post a picture to the world wide web, you may want to ask yourself if that's all your posting. There's all that METaDATA that is attached to it as well.  For Windows only comes JPEG & PNG Stripper an extremely small portable application that strips the metadata out of JPEG and PNG image files. From Lifehacker "Why would you want to strip down an imag...

My mother is reasonably computer-literate, and is fairly careful with keeping backups of important data and things like that.  However, recently, her main computer suffered a hard drive crash resulting in the loss of the majority of her recieved emails.  In a modern Web 2.0 world, this wouldnt be a problem, however my family has long used the Telus-provided email address that comes with the internet subscription.  We discovered very early-on that it has limited storage capacity, s...

I found this image in a book published in 1896, it reminded me of myself when I was child back in the ancient days before computers.   It was actually published by a librarian who used to live next to Cambridge University around this time. I think the skull reflects my intriguing but sometimes cheeky lighthearted view of those around me. I am not so sure that it’s “ Yorick ” and to my knowledge it was never bequeathed to Chicago's Goodman Theater.   ...
