Can we still be friends?   That's really what I'm after because even though I see that we cannot go on like this, I cannot live without you.     Can we still be best friends?     Can I still hold you and can you still run your fingers through my hair when I'm upset?   Can I still trust you?  ....When our promises are being broken already?   I.  Am.  Losing You.   I want you.  I al...

First of all i accept that in some walks of life men still hold sway over women. I also accept that there is a sex entertainment industry and women are also still used as sex objects to sell products. However, I find myself increasingly infuriated that for many middle class males the role that they have to fulfill is homemaker, father, breadwinner but no longer lover. For many guys the first attraction to a member of the opposite sex is physical. Going beyond that, if there is a 'chemistry&#...

What is true love in your point of view? I think that it is a holy relationship between two souls, only two people, a real man and a real woman.what do you think?

I read about this story in a different blog here . To summarize, a woman named Courteney Cook rationalizes why she left her military husband while he was away in Iraq, for an anti-war "blue-eyed Marxist". She also describes how she met other men, and actually goes through agonizing contortions to rationalize her behavior. It's both disgusting and painful to watch. She also gives her advice for others on how to leave your husband while he's away at war I know that a few users have a mi...

Been thinking a lot about marriage lately. Of course with me it has to be the positive side of things, so naturally I'm only going to say the good stuff. I do think about negative things, though. Like, why do marriages fail? We could make a list. At the top of mine would be things like drinking alcohol, which is such a gamble anyway, and the odds are not on you. Alcohol makes you behave in such a stupid way, and then prevents you from changing for the better. My mother-in-law drank a lot; sh...

As you can see, this is not the same thread as what I previously posted under the heading "Parental Influence."  When I originally posted that thread, it was out of frustration from a mom who is sitting by watching her son's family being torn apart for basically no good reason.   He's hurting.  So am I.  I didn't expect it would get the attention it did and what happened was unfortunate.  Instead of healthy dialogue it turned into a flaming war of anger and name ...

I've always heard that " A Ciga r a day keeps the ladies away" and over the years I've never met a woman who enjoys the smell and taste (if you're kissing) of a cigar.  Unfortunately for me, my wife is one of those ladies who does not enjoy the look, taste, smell, or even thought of a good cigar.  Over the years I've snuck them in on golf trips, in the car, or even outside the office, but recently I just decided to give them up completely.  I came to this decision because of...

My wife and I(I really like saying that) had dinner last night with our photographer . We went knowing we were going to get to see our wedding photos but that was not the reason I was most excited to go. I was super pumped to see his chidren. My wife has been nannying for them for the past few months. And while we were on our honeymoon we talked about how we missed their world of the wiggles and drawings that look nothing like what they are supposed to. When we arrived last night, their two g...

Praise the Lord, I am now a married man. I have spent the past week on my honeymoon(which explains my absence) and am now back in the real world ready to love my wife the way Paul commands married men to. We spent 7 nights in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. When it was finally time to leave we were both ready to come home. Both of us recognized the importance of a honeymoon away from family and friends. It was good to have some time away from the fast paced life of laptop cases and meetin...

From my perspective, once you enter into the realm of marriage, building and maintaining a successful marriage is actually a big part of personal and financial success. A solid marriage not only results in people sharing resources together, but a marriage also provides a lot of emotional support, cheerleading, and encouragement to succeed What follows are twelve little things I do quite regularly in my marriage. Please, use as many of these as seem reasonable. I tell my wife...

Tomorrow, the married men in my church body are going to hold a prayer breakfast for me. My wedding is now one week away and they figured the best thing they can give me in some awesome prayer. Maybe with enough prayer they wont have to bring a nurse in to revive me when I faint. People keep ask me if I'm nervous, and I just tell them that I am ready for this awkward planning period to be over so I can have a Cusano cigar on a beautiful Caribbean beach with my new wife by my side. I am ...
I see in this whole debate a fundamentally flawed assumption that few seem to be willing to address. This assumption is (I believe) actually the core problem and there is a simple solution – which means that it will probably never get addressed. Granted the solution isn’t without its own flaws, but it is probably better than the morass of laws and lawsuits we are heading into right now. Flawed assumption: Marriage is a civil function. It isn’t. Marriage is a religiou...

I got him good. Yes siree.    He was feeling mighty uncomfortable.  It's hard to do but I managed to pull it off.  *pats herself on the back* What did I do?  I managed to keep a secret (that's pretty good in itself)  for about four weeks to surprise (as in get him good) my husband on Valentine's Day.  It's also our 27th anniversary.  I hired a Barbershop Quartet to sing to him, hand him a rose, a card and a heart box...

Another Son.  Another wedding.  This one would be a New Year's wedding.  This is the last son to be wed!  Thank God!  We've had three weddings in under three years in three different states and now the last son, who just happens to be the eldest, walked the aisle in Kentucky.  Their father officiated in all three weddings and was pleased as punch to be able to do so.  The next wedding won't be for a while until Ethan is old enough and since he's only...
Arizona and Florida have effectively banned same-sex marriage.  California's decision is still forthcoming, but as on 9:00 AM EST on Wednesday morning, the votes echo those cast in AZ and FL. And now for the effects: I got a very serious email this morning from my lesbian friend, mourning the dissolution of her marriage. http://singrdave.joeuser.com/article/327531/Civil_Unions_v_Same-Sex_Marriage ------------------------------------------ Well Dave you helped do it. You as a s...
