*This exchange happened as we were driving to the hospital last Friday* Him: 'Hey, if I'm left in a coma and a zombie attack happens - or even if one happens when I'm under anasthesia - I want you to take the kids and get out of town.  But, before you go, I want you to leave my good boots under my bed so that when I finally come to I'll have them there waiting.' Me: 'Okey doke.  Want me to leave anything else?' Him: 'Nope, just my boots.'. Me: "Sure thing, daddy-o.  Ho...

The Excellence of Marriage It has been said often times before ‘That being married may have its pains But being single has no pleasures’ For after all Marriage is full of its Own treasures: Such as friendship founded on mutual trust No matter the weather, unable to rust; Such as selfless unconditional love That will bond two lives into One holy dove; Such as companionships deepest moments Often without needing words, just that sense; Such as sharing in all the woes and jo...

How often when you see someone reading the Bible do you see them break out in laughter. I mean, the Bible isn't funny is it? Big serious book right? Well, the other night my wife had her Bible in hand and was reading the following passage: When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples to ask him, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?" Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the...
That pile of hearts that I chain-sawed out of them whores and boys scouts and made into a squishy, big heart shape was indeed an inspired gesture!!! The boys scouts represent loyalty and being prepared, while the whores represent getting really drunk and catching a disease -- the two sides of love if ever there were two sides. M... though... Why do I even expect her to understand true romance when I spell out her name and 'I love you' with severed fingers and she somehow - with he...

My soul I did out pour Laid bare for you to see Words on paper for you to read Reading my soul You lifted your head And upon my soul you did tread My nakedness on paper you did see Your blindness so plain to me As I bared my soul to thee I cried out to you in naked adultery Still you spurned me. With a gush of violent bile you burned my insides Whilst upon my soul you did tread Reading my soul You lifted your head And upon my soul you did tread............. A po...

Headaches. I've got enough of them already yet they keep multiplying. Today, however, I think I finally put two and two together. I may have figured out how to tell I am getting a bad headache. This morning I woke up, not in a bad mood, but just lethargic and a little irritable. I couldn't place my finger on it, but I knew that I just wasn't feeling too well. I also remembered that only a few days ago I felt the same way. I just chalked it up to exhaustion, lack of sleep and stress. ...

Hi all So, like, what's happening? Over here, not a whole lot... which is pretty much just what people say when they can't be bothered thinking about what really has been going on in their lives. And since that's no way to write a blog, I'd better start thinking. Matthew and I have started walking in the mornings. It's totally rad. We get up at early o'clock and walk for about 3 kilometres around our place. It was a bit of a struggle at first, especially considering Matthew's not really...

Tomorrow will mark the 12th anniversary of the day I changed my last name. I wore a green velvet dress and flowers in my hair; he wore jeans and cowboy boots. He said I was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen and carried me across the threshold of our little house.  I said that he was my 'One' and wept as he placed the ring on my finger. Twelve years later, he's still my 'One'.  He still thinks I'm the most beautiful thing he's ever seen (even when I have bedhead and pil...

So today is my twelfth anniversary with my loving wife. We are still incredibly happy, despite four kids, many stressors, and six years in the Army. We see our lives as a great adventure. We are really looking forward to this chapter in our lives: raising our four children in Maryland, post-Army, trying to buy a house (finally - too many years of base housing), and just trying to get to know one another all over again every day. My wife is the best thing in my life. She is my best fr...

I have a rant, and I think you'll either agree with me wholeheartedly or completely flame me over this. I cannot stand it when a woman insists on hyphenating her married name with her maiden name. To see people saddled with two or three surnames is just mean-spirited. I understand that women want to express their independence and their non-subjugation to their husband, but stop thinking about yourself for a moment... THINK OF THE CHILDREN! I know several children who have thei...

I come from a very small family. We are not close with my dad's side of the family, and my mom is from England, so we don't really see them either. We never really had any huge plans as a family, considering it was just my mom, dad, older sister, and me. Regardless, we always managed to have pleasant holidays. Now this will be the second Christmas I have been married, but we have been together for about seven years. This means that we have spent seven Thanksgivings, Christmases, Easter...etc ...
Dear Alice, You say you want to marry a good Christian. For that be a good Christian. Believe that God made us in His Own Image, believe that God loves all, believe that God is Beautiful, believe that He loves Beauty, Truth, Trust and Goodness—then how can He create an “ugly woman”? God always compensates the lack of external beauty with internal beauty. Believe in Him and have confident in yourself—your face will exude a charm that many a well-featured women lack. That’s the secret o...

Okay, between the dozen or so family members from both sides of the family that were there, we have literally hundreds upon hundreds of pictures of our wedding. We haven't correlated all of them yet, but we've gotten a good group together. I've gone through and picked out some "good" ones, and put them up in a Yahoo photo album. Anybody interested can check it out here : There are over 100 pictures in there, so it can take a few minutes to see them all... Sorry! Shout at y'all la...

I know it has been almost a year since I have actually had the time to blog but here goes... I Want To Share A True Story With Everyone Here. Something That Changed My Life Forever. I haven't written on here in over a year...Most of the things that have gone on in my life over the last year has been covered by my wonderful husband Damon (JadesHubby) AKA Babiboy1982 on Xanga. As of late I have thought a great deal about the things in life that really matter. At one time in my life I was ...

Well, it's been an insanely busy weekend. My wife turned 29 today, but who wants to celebrate a birthday on a Sunday? So, I figured I'd set up a few surprises for her. I gave her three surprise "gifts", and I think they worked out well, and she was pretty happy. Her gifts started rolling in on Thursday though (due to delivery date limitations by retailers). I bought her a new dresser and mirror, and it was delivered Thursday afternoon. This was actually a gift from me as well as my par...
