After years of waiting, I’ve gotten the Chevy Volt. I’ll be doing a more thorough review shortly after I’ve had more time to evaluate it.

I don't know about you but when I read car reviews in most car magazines I have to resist the urge to tear my eyes out. The reviews are so filled with a combination of over the top drooling or over the top petty contempt.  I remember reading a review of the 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo in which the reviewer said the car didn't have enough animal passion.  What the hell does that mean? So this year, I bought a Porsche 911 Turbo.  I've always wanted one but never thought I'd be ab...

I recently took a test drive of a Cobalt SS Supercharged. Fully loaded with Pioneer sound system, Recaro seats and a Sunroof, the car is very nice. Interior: Aside from the fact that it is obviously plastic, it is designed very well. The gauge cluster is easy to read, and the A-pillar boost gauge (goes up to 20 PSI) is a nice addition instead of crowding the gauges. The dash is nicely designed, providing everything you''d need in perfect place. Aside from the misuse of plastics, the dash ...

First saw a TV ad for the Solstice back in March during the NCAA basketball tournament and immediately decided I had to have one - it was just too good. Unusual for me, since I buy a car every 8-10 years whether I need it or not. Went to Pontiac's website & there it was, at a price I thought was a typo - less than $20k base. So I called my local dealer: only one problem - no such car existed outside the web page at the time and wouldn't until a limited edition run of 1000 vehicles was pr...
Used Car Dealer Reveals "Best Buys" This is another rambling, spur of the moment, thinking as I'm writing info piece. My recomendations are based on 20 years in the Automotive business, and my personal experience I'll try to categorize by style, budget, and age..... 1. Euro-Lux Under 30k; I've been out of this market for so long I don't know what to tell you other than Look at maint logs, expect to spend $300 to $500 every 5000 miles on routine maint. I'd also shy away from...
What is the right car for the person who wants a luxury sedan but also a sports car? Why can't you have both?  Well it turns out, you can have both -- for a price.  For those looking for a Sedan, the options are a bit limited if you want both luxury and power.  In about a year, the options will be much better. But for my needs, I looked at the BMW M5, the Cadillac STS-V, Mercedes S500, and the Jaguar S-Type R.  Some of these cars aren't generally available yet.  ...
After a long search, I finally bought a new car.  I will be the first to admit I'm not much of a car enthusiast.  Ten or so years ago I was driving a 1984 Chevette.  5 years ago I was driving a Grand Prix.  And my last car was a Pontiac Bonneville.  I've always bought American made cars -- until now anyway. What I was looking for was a mix between a pure sports car such as a Corvette and a pure luxury car like the Cadillac STS.  I wanted to have a bit of both.&n...
