We went camping this weekend up north to my husband's grandparents' property. They own over 140 acres of what used to be farm land in the tiniest town you have ever seen. Seriously I would guess the population to be around 100! So it is very nice property with a river for canoeing, but besides that, is pretty boring and in the middle of nowhere. Anyways, the whole family (extended family, which is usually around 50 people) go up to the property to camp for over a week. Oh, did I mention that...

Well here are the photos I've promise. For those of you trying to contact me on my mobile: I lost my mobile phone in Hawaii but it looks like it is being posted back to me by the hotel I lost it at so I might get it back sometime next week. All about the Jacksons and Hamiltons. Me with my first American money at home before the trip. US money reminds me of monopoly money. In Australia our notes are made out of plastic and US money seems somewhat primative. My first photo of Haw...

Well we just got back from our Hawaiian vacation on the island of Kauai on Sunday night. We had such an awesome time, but are very glad to be back now. If anyone is following the weather their right now, Hawaii got a lot of rain which is causing flooding lately. The night we got there, all we heard from everyone was how hard it had been raining nonstop for almost 2 weeks straight! We thought for sure our vacation would be ruined. We were pleasantly surprised to wake up to a picture perfect sunny...
Monday, March 13th... God I can't wait. Ogre, Wookie and I are going to finally take a well-deserved vacation. I don't really think I need to say it but... it's been a hell of a year for me and as such I think my friends and I deserve a little fun. So, it was decided that for spring break (well, at least for me and Ogre... Wookie is kind of just... there) that we should go to Chicago. I know, I know. Spring Break is supposed to be sun and sand and surf and all of these things... that I just c...

In less then 4 months I will be at this time, waiting in an airport to catch my flight to Amsterdam!! I am very excited about this!! I have started to make my plans for what to do once I am there. My excitedness has rubbed off on my uni work and I am so excited about travelling that I am highly motivated with my uni work!! Now as some of you know me, I am also wanting to take things from you to Varns. I prefer small things such as any letters or photos you would like her to have. They will b...
SANS – Day 2 Ok, so today was the official start of the conference, but outside of classes not a whole lot goes on aside from a few late evening speeches or vendor demos. They had the first vendor meet & greet, but I didn’t make it to that. Today, was Epcot. Well, first I had to take the shuttle system out to the hotel the conference is being held at (Walt Disney Swan & Dolphin Resorts) to register, get my conference badge and pick up my books for training. They handed me a tote...

Life is going ok I recently finished a stint working in the rehabilitation team at my work. I had a fantastic time! And while working there I was able to make further steps towards my trip to europe and england this year. I have put in for rec leave and am just to buy my ticket now. I am going to see a bank about getting a credit card, that when i buy my ticket will give me travel insurance for free! Which will be very nice. I plan to spend a week in the UK, a week in belgium and 3 weeks in...

In the very spot we are standing, lava used to shoot out of the crater! You can tell it has been dormant for awhile because of the plants growing on the sides. There was also a family of ladybugs on the rocks near where we are standing. This is where I almost died! Notice how the clouds had completely covered the view behind me. This is our friend Stefano. He is from Catania. You can see the different deposits from different eruptions because of their varying colors based on mi...

We got to experience our first earthquake last night. It was nothing too spectacular. It was about 1 in the morning; we had just gotten into bed from a birthday party we went to. Amanda and I were both very tired and almost instantly went to sleep. It was during that period between being asleep and being awake that we felt the earthquake. I recognized it immediately as an earthquake, most likely due to the fact that there had been talk earlier in the day of an earthquake that happened night befo...

Today we went up on Mount Etna. It was absolutely breathtaking, both literally and figuratively. It is about 40 kilometers from Cantania. We went up with Stefano. We left in the morning, with pullovers in hand, to see what God had in store for us to see. We stopped in a little town on the way there to get some breakfast. One of the workers there wanted to know were we where from, I told him Texas and he automatically likened me to Walker, Texas Ranger. He said that he shows up and throws everyon...

My husband and I just recently took a long weekend trip to New York City for the first time. We have a couple of friends who moved to Queens last fall to pursue careers in music, long story short they are coming back home in May! Both have found it very hard to make any connections when half the city is there for that exact same reason. Anyways, we decided it would be a fun place to visit while we had the chance to stay with friends, considering how expensive hotels can get there. I did not know...
We're back.. Over at the Epcot Center Wife Debbie At Animal Kingdom In front of the castle at Magic Kingdom
The Epcot Center is probably the weakest of the Disney Parks.  This is particularly true at present where a number of the key attractions are off-line.  After finishing off The Magic Kingdom this morning, we headed over to the Epcot Center where the few compelling attractions had massive lines.  The most popular attraction seems to be the Test Drive.  After getting a Fast Pass and doing other things for a couple of hours, we finally went back, waited another half hour onl...
Today we spent the day at Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom has been the most satisfying of the parks so far here at Disney World. We were able to do everything we wanted to do in a day here without having to wait in long lines. I should clarify, we got to do everything we wanted to do today except the Dinosaur ride broke down (a ride where you go back in time to 65 million years ago, that would have been cool I suspect).  We probably won't get a chance to go back there but I suspect we'll ...
"Why did Obi-Wan grow a beard?" was the first thing our 4-year old uttered when he woke up this morning as we prepared to go to The Magic Kingdom here at Disney World. The Magic Kingdom is the favorite for most kids. But to get the most out of it, you really have to get there as early as possible. By noon, hour and a half waits for the popular rides are not uncommon.  For us, that meant that we were basically finished with the park attractions by noon other than ones that allowed Fas...
