Since the last edition of The Political Machine 2016 weekly stats, we’ve had a lot of developments in the primaries. It will be interesting to see the effects it has had on the game. The big primary in South Carolina for the democrats happened recently and Hillary Clinton easily took that state. AnandTech sat down with Microsoft's DirectX 12 lead, Direct3D principle lead, and co-founder of Oxide Games, Dan Baker to discuss the state of DirectX 12. "Taking place next week is the  2016 Game Developers Conference  in San Francisco. GDC has been an important show for some time, but in recent years it has taken on an even bigger role as what happens and what is announced at GDC have greater implications for not just developers, but end-users as well. GDC has been the backd...

Since week 1 we’ve had a big primary in Nevada which Hillary Clinton closely defeated Bernie Sanders for the democrats, and Donald Trump took the republican win with Marco Rubio taking 2nd, and Ted Cruz just behind him...

I’ve been making the journey from Michigan to San Francisco for literally 23 years now.  I know San Fran better than I know the downtown areas around here. Second Street in San Fran is a location I have become very familiar with over the decades.  And now I go for the first time in a long long long while. I have mixed feelings about it.   On the one hand, I do enjoy showing off our software and games and there’s the opportunity to see old friends.  But on the o...

We have a good post going about what games you played in 2015 , so lets continue and find out what games you are looking forward to in 2016. While it's still early in the year, I have just a few I'm looking to grab. Hitman - I've been a fan of the series for a while, and although I'm not sure about their release method, I have already pre-ordered. Ashes of the Singularity - I mentioned this in the other thread as I've enjoyed it even in Early Access, and I'm ex...

In 2015 we saw lots of great games make their way to the PC. I was looking back at what I played and which I found the most enjoyable.   Galactic Civilizations III - Had a lot of fun with GCIII, and it's one of my favorite Stardock games. Anno 2205 - As a fan of the Anno series I was disappointed in this. It looks good but didn't seem to hold my interest for very long.  Star Wars Battlefront - As a big Star Wars fan I was excited for this, but the game got repet...

Oooo baby!  Yes.....already pre-ordered.  You?    http://www.desertsofkharak.com/   While I was a bit disappointed in Homeworld 'remastered' due to the mash-up of mechanics since they combined some from HW1 and 2 (and I personally hated HW2) I am excited for this game.

I think that the there are two ways a computer can handle this. This is especially awesome if you are a good Ai programmer. First this is not a thread about tactics, but how the computer could implement tactics. There are basically four ways. This is basically planet building. 1. The first is basically the way everyone has done it from antiquity. They would write out a sstragedy on planet building. Basically every planet would be built the same way. 2. Second is my closest like the first. ...

For anyone who is even remotely a fan of FIREFLY.  This little SP of a gem released Oct 20th, I just got around to trying it out a few days ago.  Aside from the obvious firefly flavour it feels like Freelancer in some ways? It's DX11, has a fantastic soundtrack, comedic value and well combat is just FUN!    Oh......and it's $20 on STEAM!!!
