Through Amazon's Vine Program (where they provide materials to reviewers that are supposed to be consumed and then honestly reviewed) I had the pleasure of being introduced to the works of author Joseph Teller.  His first book, The Tenth Case (linked to my review at Amazon.com), was very good and quite enjoyable so I was very happy when I was offered the opportunity to get his newest book Depraved Indifference (also linked to my review at Amazon.com) to read and review. Since ...

Firstly if you do not know what twerd meens then SHAME ON YOU it is a mix of the words twilight and nerd a must word for any Twilight Fanpire. And now I will go straight on to listing the Pros and Cons (we think there are some) (*runs away to hide in shame*) of the god that is Edward Cullen. :F (<-- my vampire smillie lol). These are all from the point of veiw of a Fangirl not Bella, because she happens to be a fictional character, you freak! (unlike Edward). Hone...
I would like your help please. The following is an excerpt from a fictional story I am writing for a possible book publishing. I would like to get your comments on this short piece please, and if the premise sounds interesting to you.   The story line is one of a serial killer that hunts for and finds his victims on the internet, and the cop that has to track and find him.   Chapter 1   Day 1, 2:30 p.m. The Hunter   As he sat in the chair and st...

So, a little background... I go to school in about... 3 weeks. I need new books to read instead of doing my homework/study. Last year I went through a plethora of books (the entire Harry Potter Series, a bunch of Redwall books by Brian Jacques, some Garth Nix, more stuff by David and Leigh Eddings and a little Kurt Vonnegut for fun). I was wondering if anybody could suggest some good, new reading material to entertain me! Stand-alone or series! Thanks!

I sit at my station at work, hands leafing through the pages of the well-worn book once again, seeing the thick pen underlining key phrases, words that leaped out off the page and into my heart. Reds criss-crossed with blues, the occasional black or green making scant appearances, racing in ugly, hastily-drawn rays across the densely filled spaces. Only twenty pages to go. Dog-eared edges, tops all flattened out where my place had been marked, bottoms still bent to signify passages of ...
While on vacation, I read the last Harry Potter book.  It was very difficult to wait until vacation to read it given the challenges of avoiding spoilers.  I actually received spam that listed who died in the book.  I only read the first couple lines so it wasn't completely spoiled but it is amazing how loathsome some people are. I don't want to give anything away in the book but I felt it did a fine job tying up loose ends and giving readers a satisfactory and even surprising c...

I just finished off Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I missed all of the excitement, and bought it rather quietly earlier today, in a Barnes & Noble. No lines, no fuss. And then proceeded to read it. My brain is now full. I am glad that I had just finished reading (and watching) Sorcerer's Stone, and caught Order of the Phoenix at the theatre first. IMHO, the "important" books of the series are books 1, 4, 5, and 7. 1 & 7 are obvious. 2 & 3 are basically characte...
Some internet hacker named Gabriel claims to have the final chapters of the Harry Potter manuscript, which he says he got by uploading a virus onto the publisher's servers. He then gives away the ending, which I am not going to share here. From the Post Chronicle : An Internet user with the handle Gabriel claims he got the ending to the new Harry Potter book by hacking into a computer at the book's British publisher. Bloomsbury is the publisher of J.K. Rowling's upcoming finale in t...
Raymond E. Feist is the greatest living fantasy author. The author of Magician and the subsequent books, Feist has created a vivid world full of interesting, wonderful characters that are a joy to read. His latest work, Into a Dark Realm, is book two of a new series. It still exists in the world that has been created by the preceding books but begins a fresh epic.  And boy it is an epic. In the previous book, readers are given a glimpse into the world of the Dasati, a world in wh...
“Oh no they didn’t!!!!” [As I say that, picture me swinging my head and snapping my fingers with my lips pursed in disbelief] – Yeah right, that’s one affectation that I don’t do! In the next issue of Captain America, he will be killed, shot by a sniper – a sniper?! I know the Captain wasn’t the most popular super hero around these days, but the fact that he was still around was, well, fine with me and I’m sure for the other super heroes out there who could count on him at the drop o...

I tried, really I did. I wanted to get into the fanfic scene, but I am just too vanilla for it. I like those het fics that nobody else seems interested in, and I have a bit more of a literary bent. So, now I'm kinda halfway regretting buying "seventhbook.com" in anticipation of the 7th book last year. I even spent countless hours customising eFiction to look completely unique to any other eFic site. Then I got bored. Anybody interested in picking up the site and working on it? I haven'...

A long time ago, someone requested that I put my thesis on JU. Well, the actual thesis is very long, so here are the notes I used when I presented it. Enjoy! (Or run away as fast as you can) Welcome to my presentation of Mythology, Fantasy Literature and the Modern Reader. What is the hold fantasy literature seems to have on its readers? What magic spell does it cast on readers from different countries, age groups, and backgrounds? I believe this is because contemporary fantasy litera...

One of my favorite books is a JG Ballard novel entitled High-Rise because the story is good, the cover style appeals to me, and because it is just the right size. I got it at a second-hand bookstore, and it has that slightly musty paperback smell. It was owned by a Lillian something-or-other which threw me for a second, because I would have expected to find her name carefully etched into a classics novel or possibly a mystery novel penned by some female writer under an initialed pseu...
I don’t know what she is thinking, J.K. Rowling. How could she possibly think of ending Harry Potter’s life? Does she not think of the repercussions? Does not see how many children love this character? She’s writing the last book in the series and has mentioned that a well-known and liked character will likely be killed. That’s sent uproar amongst the legions of fans that do enjoy the books and also the movies. Recently, Authors, Stephen King and John Irving have asked her not t...

I hope the image of my latest book is displaying. Nobble Hospital of the Aegean is a splendid tale set in the Greek islands. Please visit the link below for the wonderful poetic and fictional world of Paul Judges : Click here I share the despair of so many people about current events in Lebanon. You would think that the oppression suffered by Jews under the Nazis would stop them from turning oppressors.........sadly not........... I do not support terrorism on ...
