Okay, so I'm reading Winston Churchill's account of World War 2. As you may already know, Churchill was Prime MInister of Great Britain during almost the entire war (for part of 1939, just after the Nazi aggression began, he was First Lord of the Admiralty--the civilian chief of the British navy). He gives a detailed, comprehensive account, in six volumes, of everything he knew and did, relating to the War. He reproduces official written policy documents on almost every page. Each volume i...

SETTING: A bar. CAST: Bartender Patrons Lion BARTENDER: What can I get you? PATRON: Draft beer, please. BARTENDER: Here you go. PATRON pays, takes beer back to table. BARTENDER: What can I get you? LION: Actually, do you mind if I rampage in here a bit? BARTENDER: I dunno... a rampaging lion isn't really what the bar scene is all about. LION: I'll let you loot the bodies of any victims too maimed or dead to resist. BARTENDER: Oh, well. In that case, be my gue...
Pat Buchanan seems to be shaking off any sort of doubt about his sympathies for the old Third Reich. But Vodka Pundit has taken him back to the wood shed. Check out this article linked below..

I know what I had been taught about WW2 and the Holocaust and all, but there are some rather interesting facts about the history of it all. You have to watch the video by David Cole on the provided link. It's taboo to think about these facts but there are some things that are hard to explain away. Take for example the fact Auchwitz had a theatre complete with a stage and props and costumes. You don't see or hear about it during the tour, but it's undeniable they are there and unmentioned. Or the...
Today is the 60th anniversary of liberation of the Auschwitz concentation camp. Probably the last round anniversary with so many witnesses still alive. Auschwitz was a German Nazzis' camp of mass murder which took the death toll of about 1.5 million people. Most of them were Jews from Poland and surrounding countries, Poles, Gypsies and homosexuals and Soviet POWs. The leaders of 30 countries gather in Krakow, POLAND (near Oswiecim - polish name for German Auschwitz) today to honor the death of ...

One of my hobbies is Genealogy (Family History). I never knew I had an Uncle in WW2 . He was never mentioned and it wasn't until I started looking into the FamilyTree checking details and interviewing that the following story finally emerged. You may or may not be interested but it's a good War Yarn about an episode . (one of thousands) that are never told. It took place on the Indonesian Island of Timor- Ande (Brian Anderson) ISLAND UNDER THE SUN...

So tonight we're watching The Simpsons. Tonight they had two episodes, one of which was about a campaign to make Springfield an un-kid friendly place. About half-way through, they have a scene of them changing the Toy's R Us logo and show kids crying including Milhouse grimacing. It was just for a couple of seconds. But apparently I'm not the only world war II history freak out there. One of the writers there made a reference to a World War II image of a sad French man in a crowd as the ...

Some people say the United States behaves like a world bully. There's a term for those people: Morons. Pampered morons but morons nevertheless. Let us pretend that in 1944 when Roosevelt died that his Vice President was actually I. Bully. He was actually the genetic twin of Adolph Hitler. And as World War II came to a close, he instituted a policy of world bullyism. What would he have done and what could have been done about it? 1945: The entire population of Japan is exterminated. Every m...

Well now, The 15year olds are being taught in their history class( for the exam GCSE, UK) about the Battle of Britain. They will be concerned to understand the underlying causes, the events, and the consequences of the conflict. Their investigation is centered around the Key Question, Who won the Battle of Britain? Surely an open and shut case? A case that, before the lesson I did an unscientific 'straw poll' to see what they already thought, they already know the answer to....

I just finished watching the HBO series Band of Brothers, which is, for the uninitiated, a series of 10 episodes (about one and a half to two hours long each, I believe) about the 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, otherwise known as "Easy Company," during World War II. The series aired on HBO in 2001, but this was the first I've ever seen it; I've heard the name mentioned before, but had no idea what it was about, so I went into the 10-part "movie" without too much knowledge about ...
