We just got back from the groomers a little bit ago and I took pictures. Here are a few - Two pics of Aji - And two pics of Umji - I might be biased, but I think they are pretty!
Just wanted to show everyone my now elderly dog when she was a pup.... Say hi to Sarah... my flossy furry beast of a Golden Retriever.
Cute isn't she? Her name is Mercedes, I adopted her from a local no kill shelter. She had spent the first 3 months of her life in a kennel where she was mistreated and was probably being raised to be a fighting dog. I brought her home and finished nursing her back to health. Soon after I got her the nearest city to me passed Breed specific legislation (BSL) against "Pit Bull" type dogs. They Claim that it is the dog that 's dangerous! My question is where is the owners responsibi...
So Mollie spent a lot of her first year going out and about with me to all the different happenings in Algonquin, IL, summer '96. We went over to Lee's house a lot, who is the one that drove us to the pet store in the city, and over to Mike's who was Lee's neighbor and had at least 13 cats. We also went to the spectacle that is Algonquin Founder's Day, which included a parade, a carnival, bands, parties and fireworks. When Mollie was tired I carried her, or we stopped and rested and watch...
When it finally got settled that Mollie was going to stay, I had been chastised for getting my little sister involved in such misbehavior, and for behaving with complete irreverence to household policy. Amy and i were both informed that if it weren't for Amy's love of the puppy, the puppy would be gone, because my love for her was discounted by my impulsive behavior, while Amy's love for her was considered more relevant due to her young age and innocence. It was a very complicated formu...
When I got Mollie, she was about three months old. We drove to the South Side of Chicago to the pet store that had the cheapest puppies in the paper. I know, i know, puppy mills and all kind of horrors, but I was a 17 year old disturbed kid with addictive behavior, and even though my sister is a genius she was only 12. So we got one of my shady older guy friends to drive us to the pet store we found in the classifieds. We get there and it is really small. There are cages all lined up ...
I've got a great little dog, Ollie. He's a half poodle/half maltese terrirt, and I feel guilty. tonight, I haven't taken him for a walk, and he's sitting next to the computer staring at me. Dogs are great. I don't mind cats, but there is one thing that dogs ave the cats don't. Unconditional everything. Dogs unconditionally guard you, love you, remain loyal to you, and basically be friendly. They're kind of like the perfect associate. Pity they don't speak.
We weren't looking for a dog. Sure, the subject had come up before. We had a dog for about 12 hours one day, a stray that she had seen outside. They had bathed it, and named it, and then went to get it some dog food and to pick me up from work. But she had left it in the backyard while they were gone, unsure as to whether it was housebroken, and it had gotten out of the fence. We never saw it again. But he would still mention it, even a year later, which seemed pretty amazing consider...
