Like the title; except, I'm also thinking of other stuff too. My problem I can't figure out how to make my own maps of different regions. Can you explain how to do that.

One of the most fascinating books (and maybe longest) I've ever read was Foucault's Pendulum by Eco.  Hard to imagine investing that amount of time in reading a book these days, but if you are so inclined, Pendulum should not disappoint.  Interesting fellow.

Taylor Hicks Do I Make You Proud Album: N/A Year: 2006              Taylor Hicks finally has confidence in himself in the  rickety “Do I Make You Proud.”             An effusive piano opens the single, setting a cloying tone.  His teachers would ask the question out loud in class. He knew the right answer but wouldn’t speak up in class. In coll...

The opening was a bit off-putting, a saccharine, contrived scene to simply enable recitation of the Gettysburg Address in a very sappy way, but once that was behind us, the rest of the movie was superb.  Day-Lewis was near-perfect as Lincoln (at least to my mind's eye & ear). Tommy Lee Jones steals the film as Thaddeus Stephens. The opening aside, a great film with marvelous acting.  Even James Spader.  Very worthy of your time.

Director Wes Anderson has something of a cult following among movie aficionados. Some of his films, such as "Rushmore" and Bottle Rocket," were quirky indie hits that established him as a filmmaker with a distinctive voice. Although his target audience and awards voters love his films, mainstream moviegoers have yet to really attach themselves to his work. That may all change with "Moonrise Kingdom," which is as close to mainstream movie-making as Anderson may ever get. Though it is not exa...

For years I had my weekly Wednesday pilgrimage to the local comic book store to pick up the latest issues of the comic books I liked. I’m not a collector. I just like reading comic books. That time, however, is over. Instead, I use the ComiXology iPad app. And not only is the reading experience superior (due to the way they turn the comics into a quasi-motion comic) but it’s so much easier to go back and re-read a series.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to go back...

Every now and then I try to remember to put up a few links to some reviews I've done at Amazon.  Normally it's music or movies, but every now and then it'll be electronic items of some sort or another, or, as in the case of the list below, Lego toys or something like that. Anyway, if you all (readers) don't mind a naked attempt to get some votes for the reviews that I've written, then here goes. It goes something like this... read a review that might be linked below, or jump arou...

As I noted on another site I frequent, I actually had thought that Tony Curtis may have passed away a few years ago but that wasn't the case and it wasn't until the last few days that his life ended.  He was a great entertainer and left behind a great body of work to enjoy.
