The Reds manager softened his stance for the first time on his star striker, indicating he could be sold this summer, but not for less than the £50million Chelsea paid for Fernando Torres back in 2011. ‘If Arsenal want the player, then they have to produce the value for the player,’ he said after Liverpool’s 2-0 friendly win against Melbourne Victory. Rodgers, who has previously compared Suarez in the same bracket as Edinson Cavani, who recently joine...

For the past five seasons, the Australian Football Manila Cup has left the Philippines. This time, the cup stays home. The Philippine Eagles won the 2013 Manila Cup in dramatic fashion. It is the first piece of silverware for the Eagles in 10 years of existence.   The Philippine Eagles represent the Philippine Australian Football League (PAFL) in international competitions. The team had a great debut in 2004 when it defeated the Hong Kong Dragons, then reigning Asian champions, by 2...

I know my political predictions have been off lately, picking John McCan't and Mitt Romney, but I think I'm a bit more knowledgeable about football... that is why I am predicting a Baltimore Ravens victory by at least a touchdown. Kapernick the rookie might be great on the option play, but he has never faced a defense as ferocious as Baltimore. Where ever he throws, he has to look out for Ed Reed while having Suggs and Lewis breathing down his neck. Its not like the 49ers don't have ...

I keed, I keed... I know where it is, even though I've never seen a reason to tune into the BigTen network on my TV before now.  Now though, now that the Terrapins of the University of Maryland will apparently be moving to the BigTen network (which will wind up, at least temporarily, at 14 teams), well, now I need to figure out how to find my favored team playing their games on my TV. Apparently the gods at Verizon FiOS that determined which channels needed to be offered in my area w...

Picking a tent hold back a enduring material, so that unfeigned guilt factor used for manifold senility. pile up a tent to suit your needs and your ration. Wherefore squint for the peerless stirring. For citation, to pin down how frequent stages of progress. If you are car camping, tents jumbo and massive, no obstacle. But for canoe camping and backpacking trip, a pygmy lightweight tent is an fine choice. please test if you demand a tent for 2 person tent in consequence test for 4 personen zelt ...

Headline is linked: Man dies after falling out of stands at Rangers game Really tragic story. I'm sure there will be some kneejerk reactions to it all, but it just seemed to be a tragic accident and as pointed out in the article, thousands of games have been played and attended over the years without these things happening. Still, my heart goes out to the family and to the persons and players in attendance at the game as what they witnessed had to be horribly impactful.

Washington Nationals manager Jim Riggleman, who had just managed the team back to 1 game over the .500 mark, surprisingly quit on the team over what he deemed was a lack of respect in (the team's/General Manager's) not agreeing to hold talks about a contract extension/pick-up of the option on his existing contract. Original news announcements about the issue made it seem that he quit because he wasn't offered an extension.  News conference footage, straight from the man's...

Some years back a co-worker and I were arguing about whether or not it made financial sense for the District of Columbia to spend the kind of money it would take to build a stadium for the baseball team that would be moving or had moved there.  The co-worker hated the idea of any tax money, or any public money really, going to the rich owners of the baseball team.  I argued that the money that was being spent on the stadium would result in a very nice revenue stream that would eventual...

Hey this is Espa. This is going to be my fight blog, so I'll be posting stuff like martial arts news that are relevant to me, or personal experiences regarding my fights (amateur (for now) bouts), as well as my training sessions. Probably I would include stuff I'd just like to let out. So yeah see you (I don't know who "you" is/are but whatever) in a bit since I have class in a while.

I knew going into the weekend that this past weekend wasn't likely going to produce the results I wanted from either of my favored teams.  The Terrapins were going up against the Mountaineers and that's not been a good match-up for them historically.  This year wasn't really any different as the Terps proceeded to let themselves basically be pushed all around the field.  They did score some points, so perhaps it wasn't an embarassment, but West Virginia could have (seemingly) scor...
I love the heat.  I love the sunshine.  I love to see green grass for more than half the year. When I lived in New England, I would have the worst case of cabin fever around February-March.  I couldn't stand it.  It's all a distant memory now.  While I still love New England and still consider it home in many ways, I love my new adopted state so much.  It's not fun running in the humidity,  but it's not as bad as running in snow.  I love the fac...
It has been a tough 72 hours for Tiger Woods, whose dirty laundry was tossed into the wind storm created by the lowest-common denominator media (aka TMZ). Reading through the commentary over the past 24 hours on Woods, the aftermath and the apology, the consensus theory is that he's human. Really. It took this fucking long for people to realize that Tiger Woods - the golfer, the icon, the video game avatar - is human? As if his knee injury-riddled victory in the U.S. Open didn't prove it, it ...
