I figured the Super Bowl isn't really a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots out of it so not worth paying attention to. That is, until I read this email today. Now instead of saying "GO PATS!" I'll have to say "GO PACKERS!" I'm sure this is written by a true blue Packers fan! Have to give him credit for ingenuity in gathering more supporters for his home team. GO PACKERS !!! The Green Bay Packers a...
Football Tickets ‘The crowd are on the pitch, they think its all over, it is now.’ There is nothing that quite football matches the atmosphere of a live football match, the smells, the sounds and the colours are all contributory factors that make this above all others a truly English event. Such is the popularity of these occasions that many people find it hard to get Premiership football tickets, at least at an affordable price. Here at Mayfair Global Events we specialise in se...
As the Washington Redskins game comes down to the end and Hail Mary attempt (for Philly) that failed, the Redskins will be leaving Philly with a 2-2 record and I think a little on what might have been. Not that I saw the games, as I had been busy with concerts over the last few weeks, but I've been following the Redskins and watching the scoreboards to see how they've done. Had it not been for failures by the defense in the game against Houston, they might be looking at a 3-1 record ...
Ah, fall! The time of year when the MEN OF FALL (some people may note a warping of a song reference there, if you don't see it, check out Kenny Chesney's latest single, the video for it is great and the song is a definite winner) take to the field and attempt to battle over small patches of (primarily) green real estate. I'm actually somewhat interested this season, as compared to the last few seasons where I knew that my favored professional organization was being run by a group that I...
My column from Sunday’s game. It’ll go into Monday afternoon’s paper, but I wanted to get it out here a little earlier… SEATTLE — The spirit of giving was in full display on Sunday. Seattle allowed its visitors the entire first quarter to take over the game, but San Francisco returned the favor with timely turnovers and misplays to give the game and the victory back to the hosts. The last gift by the 49ers gave the Seahawks the ball late, when Olindo Mare&...
Today the groups for the FIFA Worldcup 2010 were drawn in South Africa. It is a big big thing because now we know who will play whom in the group games - and it allows for plotting and strategizing (and some friendly betting among friends) about the outcome. I can't wait for the worldcup, it is the biggest sporting event in the world. For those of you who are ignorant of football or the world cup, the US are together with England, Slovenia and Algeria. Kinda funny to have the inventor of footbal...
Quarterback Maurice Dunn is a returning starter for the Royal Knights of Marist. He stands in at 5'11 and a good 165 pounds with very quick feet and long arms. Mr. Dunn has been playing Varisty for Marist for 4 years so I'm picking him to be my under the radar player in hudson county this year. He has a good target wideout in Otis Best who lacks speed but boy o boy can this kid catch. Dunn also has a very good o-line and two good running backs should prove to be better than last year. I pi...
Well much to my surprise, the Chargers did it. Amazing. A fun game to watch, probably less so for Colts fans. Actually, I am a big fan of both the Manning boys (with his hair growing out, Peyton looks more like Eli than ever). But tonight Peyton's magic just wasn't there. If you are gonna whine about the "free" first downs the Chargers got on their overtime drive...there was no controversy, the Colts did those crimes and had to pay for it. So you could blame ...
The Chargers may not get past the Colts tomorrow night, I would be surprised if they did, but they did two MONUMENTAL things by beating the Broncos so soundly last week....thing 1) they sent the Broncos home...no play offs for you, my little ponies...and 2) Mike Shanahan is GONE. Not that I have any real animosity towards Mike, but he has whupped up on the Raiders way too much ever since they fired him. I know, so has everyone else lately. But he has built a tradition ar...
I'm not surprised Eric Mangini was fired. This man squandered a playoff appearance that seemed almost inevitable. Such a mistake should carry a consequence. Many armchair Quarterbacks are blaming Brett Favre for the meltdown, but those folks are borderline delusional. Yes, its true that Favre was intercepted a lot, but rewind to last season when Chad Pennington was intercepted much in the same way. Its nothing short of a miracle that Favre took the Jets to 8-3 with such miserable pass pro...
One month ago it looked like the Giants were unstoppable, their record was twelve wins and one loss. Then Plaxico Burris their best receiver had a meltdown, besides not being able to play, he went and shot himself in the leg, in a city {New York} where simple possession of a handgun breaks the very old Sullivan law and carries a seven year sentence. The Giants looked unstoppable, then BOOM! the last four games of the season they lost three out of four, while the Carolina Panther game was...
THERE SHOULD BE A BCS PLAYOFF THINK ABOUT IT EVERY MAJOR COLLEGE SPORT HAS A PLAY OFF BUT O NO FOOTBALL WANTS TO BE STUPID. Terrell Person is a 5'9" 165 under the radar DB. He attends Marist High School in Bayonne,NJ. Terrell Person was sidelined his Junior year due to Injury. Still racking up 28 tackles 6 sacks and a few forced fumbles while only playing two games. Person also earned an All-county nod from his Head coach Larry Arico. Terrell Person returnded his Senior season to take on Henry Synder in which he racked up 8 tackles. I also seen Terrell Person when the Knights took on Linclon and Terrell went head ...
