Everyone women in the 24th century wears beehives i noticed the new ahora doesnt not realistic.
A Knight’s Tale, hehehe Just watched this movie again and it is still a favorite of mine. You have to love a movie concerning knights and such … especially with a human wave in the beginning. This movie gives us a new perspective on the art of courtly dancing, hahaha. I don’t want to tell you much more (don’t want to ruin it), but the life’s lessons therein are spot on. It demonstrates how power and status can both be used for good and bad … sort of the s...
Recently I watched this little treasure *cough* with my 9, 6 and 4 year old nephews and niece. Has any of you watched this film? It is _NOT_ for children - at all. The plot has murder in it, tons of violence like attempted burning of villagers inside their own house, a merciless hunt for Esmeralda with the accompanying burning down of Paris, a song where Claude Frollo sings about hell and damnation and his obcession with Esmeralda and why he wants to kill her, all painted in red and with flames....
I went out with a couple of friends to see this movie on opening night – Friday the 13th. It was only the second movie that I’ve seen in the theatre this year, with the first one being Star Trek . Now that was a good movie! 2012 however, sucked – big time. How bad was it, you ask? The story was completely implausible and the acting was even worse. The special effects couldn’t save the movie either. While well done, they were just the same thing ove...
We knew that it was going to be bad. So bad in fact, that the movie was not screened for reviewers ahead of time. This is a sure sign that the studio knows the movie will be trashed by reviewers. But we went anyway. We went fully knowing the experience would probably be grueling and mind-numbing. Dissapointed we were not, expectations were fully met. To give you some history here, I, like many other men my age, grew up watching GI Joe every Saturday during my formative years. I used ...
Some more recent movie watching leads me to a few more movie reviews and a couple of technology product reviews for those that might be interested. The technology product review may interest some road warrior types or others that have to keep track of receipts and expenses, so I'm gonna cover that one first, then jump into the movies. The first technology product that I want to mention is the NeatReceipts portable scanner system . As mentioned above, if you are a road war...
Angels and Demons is a violent film. And I'm not just referring to the shoot and kill, either. With the one exception of romance, there is every type of passion in this film, and plenty of it. Emotion, intellect, and brute force come together to make one great movie experience. Some good things in Angels and Demons were practically everything. Wonderful quality and presentation mix to bring an enthralling, engaging experience. The special effects and light science-fiction feel at some points ...
I'm gonna stick with the relatively lazy approach and refer folks that are interested over to Amazon.com to see the more detailed versions of things. Partly because once I post a review at Amazon it becomes Amazon's property, and also because it doesn't make a lot of sense to take the time to come up with new words to say the same things. I'm most definitely not a Thesaurus. First up, one of my favorite comedies is the baseball movie: Major League . I love the lovable l...
The emperor’s new clothes! That’s “Slumdog Millionaire” for you… Five minutes into this celebrated patchwork of illogical clichés and you are struck by the jarring dialogues. The cumbersome delivery in a language which doesn’t come naturally to most of the actors sounds like someone scratching on walls with one’s finger nails; it ruins the possibility of a connection… Had this film been made by an Indian director, it would’ve been ...
Over the last few days I got a chance to catch a couple of films, one on the big screen, and one that I really wish I had seen on the big screen (but enjoyed the luxury of watching on Blu-ray). First up, the film Defiance with Daniel 'James Bond' Craig in a starring role, along with Liev Schrieber and others that aren't as easily recognized. The film is about real life events back during World War II, with Craig playing Tuvia Bielski and Schrieber playing his brother Zus. ...
A friend and I caught the new Kevin Smith film Zack and Miri make a Porno on the weekend just passed. I have to say it was pretty funny, though I'd also caution anyone that goes to see it that there's a pretty disgusting (funny, but disgusting) scene in the later half of the film. For anyone that is planning to see it and hasn't yet, STAY THROUGH THE CREDITS. There's some bonus material tossed in that doesn't show up until after the credits have run. Most people seem to be m...
A couple of recent movies on disc to consider: Leatherheads ; Run, Fatboy, Run ; and Speed Racer . First up, Leatherheads . George Clooney's look at the early days of professional football in the U.S. The quick summary: rent-it. Ok, but not great. Probably more entertaining to football fans. With that one out of the way, lets move on to Run, Fatboy, Run . I enjoyed this one a lot, though I have to say that part of why I watched it was beca...
I wound up renting the BD of Shine a Light from Netflix, along with Harold and Kumar escape from Gitmo...
Just back from a sneak preview of Hancock compliments of Best Buy (thanks again for the tix Best Buy!). My teen daughter and I both enjoyed it a lot. I won't post open spoilers here in the initial article, but wanted to say a few things about the film. #1. Parents may wish to exercise extra caution before taking youngsters to this one. I'm not sure of the rating, but I'm guessing R, almost entirely on language. Language included many references to a--hole, and a few other words tossed in...
I made it to the theatre to see the new film Wanted today, starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and others. Except for problems with the the projection system in the theatre that made the video go out at inopportune times, I enjoyed it a lot.
