Polly the cat is doing what she's supposed to do - kill off rodents.  Unfortunately she's not killing off the rodents we wanted her to, ie the moles that are terrorizing our lawn.  In the past month we've lost one hamster to her and tonight we lost Bert the mouse. I couldn't sleep, so I was laying in bed watching Matchstick Men.  Polly was laying next to me purring...and out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of white movement and before I knew it the cat was up out...

For those of us who have been married for a while: If you could turn back the clock and do things differently, would you choose to keep your virginity until you met your spouse?  I'm not necessarily talking about waiting until you got married...more saving yourself for the person you have chosen to spend your life with. Also, how long did you wait before having sex with your now spouse? If I could do things all over again, i think that yes, I would like to wait and have D be my fir...
Sorry this was just too good to pass up. I don't even know who wrote it. The Happy Dog's Bedtime Prayer Now I lay me down to sleep, The queen-size bed is soft and deep. I sleep right in the center groove My human being can hardly move! I've trapped her legs, she's tucked in tight, And here is where I pass the night. No one disturbs me or dares intrude Till morning comes and I want food! I sneak up slowly and it begins My nibbles on my human's chin. She wakes up slowl...
Is it permitted to neuter or spay a pet? It is forbidden to spay or neuter any animal. The prohibition of castrating male animals is clearly stated in the Torah (Leviticus 22:24), "One whose testicles are squeezed, crushed, torn or cut, you shall not offer to G-d [as a sacrifice], nor should you do these [practices] in your land."The rabbis forbade spaying a female animal too. neuter, spay, castrating, castration, Miscellaneous, Animals/Pets Just want to point out that we betray Gods ...

It's summer again, seems to happen on a rather regular basis. With summer comes heat and being sweaty, two things I don't like together. Alright, that's not entirely true. I do like heat and sweat in certain situations, the situation known as 'summer' is not one of those. Being all hot and sweaty for weeks on end makes me rather irritable, not that I'm exactly pleasant to start with. Summer has just arrived and I'm already looking forward to wint...

I feel like a total we todd for asking this, but... Henry (my daschshund) has a hard-on that he can't seem to get rid of.  It's a full on one, his ...umm...penis is all the way unsheathed and he's wandering around with his back arched so's it won't drag on the ground. He's been this way for half an hour, and I don't know what to do to help him, to encourage him to re-sheath his weapon.  I think it's painful....please, someone give me some suggestions!!!!!

I was eating breakfast this morning (imagine that, breakfast in the morning) and noticed a bee (or wasp, it flies, buzzes, and can sting me, who cares what it's really called) buzzing around the room. So I immediatly started plotting it's death, nice guy that I am. I don't like bees and will kill (or at least start plotting to) them on sight, at least inside. If outside, well that's their home so I'll leave them be so long as they leave me be. Ins...

A year ago I brought home a miniature Chihuahua. She was only 8 weeks old and fit in the palm of my hand. I named her Baby Ruth because she was chocolate brown in four different tones. I really never liked dogs until I saw a picture of her and instantly fell in love. My friend at work was selling her and 2 of her sisters. I paid two hundred fifty dollars and she was worth every last cent. She filled my heart with joy. Baby was easy to house break and she loved sleeping next to me at night. I ...
Nature is full of look-alikes. In the scientific world it is called mimicry. When it comes to snakes, it can mean the difference between life and death. The Coral snake has a twin that only can be detected by the avid herpetologist. For years, biologists believed the resemblance between the coral snake, and its harmless near-twins, the scarlet snake and scarlet king snake, was a classic case of mimicry. The impostors, scientists thought, adopted the coral's colorful bands as a survival mech...

Although I don't agree with the idea of banning a specific breed of dog, or for that matter, of banning most "exotics" (that's based largely on my position that "banning things" is a damn stupid idea!), I do think there are animals that shouldn't be as readily available as they are. A few years ago, I walked into an Appleton, Wisconsin pet store. We're not unfamiliar with herpetology, and, in fact, are very interested in procuring a ball python at some time in the future. As I looked at th...

I went and bought a new member of the family two weeks ago. I purchased my new friend at a fundraiser auction for my neices school. My new friend is a female cockatiel. I named her Lou-Lou. She can say hello and good morning. The other day I was whistling at her and she "cat called" back at me. She loves watching T.V and listening to the radio. My sister went and bought a male parakeet last weekend to be her companion. He sings to her and she sings back. We named him Rossco. They love to look...

Ah...April 24th today. Springtime. I sit here in Ohio...in the U.S. which is located between Canda and Mexico in the Northern hemisphere of our planet Earth. During this time of the year the Northern hemisphere gradually tilts toward the sun and grows warmer and gains more daylight. It should be a mild pleasant time of the year...with great temperatures for leisure and work. Not today....today I look out the window as I sit here on my computer and do you know what I see? Snow...it's fuc...

So a few weeks back (think easter time) my sister left a kitten with us. In all fairness we did know she was going to do this, it wasn't just an easter surprise. Now we have psycho kitten (but then again arn't all kittens psycho) running around the house. Is source of great amusement. But also has some oddness/ungoodness to it as well.        The litter and food are kept in the computer room. Apparently I'm the...
