My husband and I walk our weiner and boxer dogs every night after supper. We set out with poo-pickup bags in hand (biodegradableones from PerSmart) with both Grace and Henry securely latched onto their leashes. I've been using a squirt bottle to train Socrates. We've been going round and round about his biting. He just wants to play but I am trying to teach him that biting is a bad thing. When he starts biting I'll tell him "NO!" and sometimes that will work. If he continues after the second "NO!", I say "I'm gonna get the squirt bottle." That works now as he's experienced the squirt bottle enough times to know exactly what that phrase means. I don't even need to squirt him any more, just threate...
I went out in the backyard to get in one of my cats, And while calling to him, I notice a large bird in one of my trees. About the size of my smaller cats! It was a hawk! Beautiful bird too! Well, I had to get rid of my birds (emus, chickens, and ducks) before I went off to college. No one else would take care of them....so they had to go bye bye.
