2020 was a challenging year for the console and PC industry, and it seems like 2021 isn't shaping up to be much different either. Worldwide shortages of parts, exacerbated by the Coronavirus pandemic, have made it difficult for many companies to keep up with demands for their products. Just as chip shortages have affected AMD and intel, similar shortages have impacted Sony and its PlayStation 5, which released last Christmas. A recent briefing with Hiroki Totoki, the Chief Financial Officer o...
It seems like not long ago we were posting this similar article about spring. Well summer arrives in a little over a month, and I think it's going to be a hot one. Summer is a fun season to skin as there are a variety of WindowBlinds skins, animated wallpapers for DeskScapes , CursorFX themes and more you can use! There are also plenty of landscape wallpapers to have your desktop feel like it's on a tropical vacation. We'll be showing off and featuring more summer inspired skins soon,...
I don’t know if this will be my last AAR of Galactic Civilizations III. As I type this, the game is about to turn 6 years old and is still going strong. We’ve been working on an update for the game for awhile and are hoping to get it released before the anniversary (fingers crossed). This AAR will kind of act as a retrospect on the game, mention some changes we’ve made and hopefully be entertaining. I am playing as the Terran Empire.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is finally here! This is the latest animated Star Wars series, and some are calling it a continuation of the Clone Wars. We're getting ready to watch the first episode tonight, but I wanted to know if anyone else is watching or is interested in this show.
DeskScapes is a program designed to make it easy to have really cool Windows desktop backgrounds. It doesn’t just manage wallpapers - it integrates native animated wallpaper support into Windows. Version 11 includes a bunch of cool new things that make it pretty compelling for every PC user. Here is a quick tour of some of those features. Part 1: The interface Once installed, you access DeskScapes by right-clicking on your desktop. The interface is...
Is Earth ready for a potentially catastrophic asteroid impact? Unfortunately, the answer appears to be no. An international exercise to simulate an asteroid striking Earth is finished, and with its fictitious impact concluded, things aren't looking so hot for the 185-mile stretch between Prague and Munich. It sounds like a game, but it's actually serious business. The exercise is being led by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Center for Near Earth Object Studies and is meant to prepare sc...
I hope you enjoyed season 1 as much as I did! It's going to be a long time until season 2 so I decided to put together an 8-episode guide prediction which I'll share here. I have no inside knowledge but I have read the comic. This post has changes from the comic that I think make it more compatible with an episodic TV show. Obviously, this isn't how it will actually go down. But it is likely to go down something like this so major spoilers. Stop now if you haven't read the comic book. Spoil...
I like wallpapers. Or desktop backgrounds, if you prefer. But what comes with Windows is really…lacking. That’s why I use DeskScapes. It adds a ton of features that arguably should have been part of the OS. Millions of people use DeskScapes already, but there were a number of missing features that I think kept it from becoming a “gotta have” app. DeskScapes 11, I believe, adds those killer features. The new features Below I’l...

If you had told me twenty years ago that the world would get to a point where thousands of people could tune in and watch people play a video game live just about anytime you want, I’d have called you crazy. And I definitely would have been wrong. When I pause to consider online streaming and all that it’s become, it really does just sort of leave me awestruck. I can’t believe how “on demand” things are now, from video and movie streaming services, ...
Microsoft has commissioned five new custom fonts that could be the new default font going forward. "Calibri has been the default font for all things Microsoft since 2007, when it stepped in to replace Times New Roman across Microsoft Office. It has served us all well, but we believe it’s time to evolve. To help us set a new direction, we’ve commissioned five original, custom fonts to eventually replace Calibri as the default. We’re excited to share these brand-new fo...
I haven't been looking into building a new computer or upgrading the one I have recently, but that doesn't mean I haven't been hearing the buzz about all of the hard-to-find CPUs that have hit the market over the last year or so. I know, for instance, that AMD's Ryzen 5000 series has been fairly impossible to find. A few of my friends have been looking and the only luck they've had locating it is with a pretty inflated price tag attached. These processors have been around for a little while n...
Master skinner and long-time WinCustomize member 2of3 has been sharing some awesome WindowBlinds skins, and I wanted to feature some of them in the news this week. Thanks for creating these wonderful themes, and we can't wait to see more! Gekko Sovereign Cole Radiolux
Everyone has preferences in gaming. Some people prefer to play a game for some heart-pounding, fast-paced action. Others might enjoy something a little more serene, like a nice puzzle or “find it” game. Some play for the mechanics of the game itself, and others might play a game primarily for the story. There are lots of reasons that I play games, but one of the things that compels me the most about them is the story. The gameplay could be incredible, an...
In an article from Bloomberg released last Saturday, Jason Schrier reports that Amazon's video game division canceled the development of an online MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) based on the fantasy series Lord of the Rings . Amazon announced the game back in 2019 to loads of fan excitement, but apparently one does not simply create a hit MMORPG. A photo from Steve Jackson's Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring The developers at Amazon Game Studios...
