There’s a new girl on the team… She’s a senior. She was the center forward on the Fisher Catholic team… (I remember her because she was really mean and bitchy… in fact, she walked up to me and said, “yeah, I was the real bitch on the Fisher team.) She tore us apart when we played them. She… is… good… Ashley is this girl’s name. She is an extremely sociable person and started talking to Jess right of the bat. I walked over and said, “Hi, I’m Samantha”. I think I started on...
Soccer is finally here. God, it seems like only yesterday the girls and I were playing under the lights. It seems like yesterday we were all at Dusty’s house having our last cookout. Sadly, that was the last time I talked to some of those girls until recently. I love soccer… I love my girls (at least most of them). With them, I feel so happy. If I was dumped from a long term relationship during soccer season, I would have recovered within a week… honest to God. Because, I would have ...
Given my previous article on drug abuse by some athletes ( Link ) has gotten me thinking about this. What is the worst thing an athlete can do? Would it be cheating, like drug enhancement abuse? Gambling on his teams or opponents? That would also be cheating, right? Not playing to his full potential, i.e. quitting before the game even begins? I guess now that we’re thinking about athletes and their games. Why stop there? What about a regular person not involved in sports? Wha...
(I decided to change the title) I was watching television the other day, Real Sports with Bryant Gumble . I’m not an obsessed fan of any sports. Although I love Football (what some Americans refer to as Soccer), I also love Volleyball, and sometimes I’ll watch a basketball game. My favorite sport now that I’m thinking about it really is Track and Field, oh yeah, I enjoy Tennis too. Anyway, sometimes I tune in to Bryant Gumble’s or Bob Costas’ HBO programs to hear their spin on things a...

With the NHL lockout now being the longest work stoppage in Pro Sports, is anyone watching or taking any real interest in the WHC. I am a hockey fan and someone who is proud to support his country in international sporting event, but I have not watched more than 5 mins. total of the WHC.

The Big East just extorted a ton of money from the ACC.  Why?  Because 3 members of the conference exercised their right to freely associate with any schools they wanted to and left to Join the ACC. Was that the ACC's fault?  After all, the ACC does not pursue schools to Join.  Schools Petition the conference to Join, and thus many members of the Big East did so, but only 3 were chosen. So the big east sued, and the ACC settled instead of being tied up in court for a lo...
Today as I was driving home from work, I heard the news on the radio: Minnesota Twins' setup man Juan Rincon has been suspended for ten days for violating baseball's substance-abuse policy.  I was disappointed to hear that one of my favorite ball players failed a drug test.  Losing this guy for ten days will hurt the Twins' chances of holding on to late-inning leads. Now it wasn't reported which drug he had been caught using.  (He will hold a press conference tomorrow.)  I...

Perhaps, at least in one area, we may be seeing some evidence that Bud Selig, perhaps one of the absolute worst commissioners in the history of Major League Baseball, may finally be "getting it" in the area of Steroids and other performance enhancers in his sport. From FoxSports.com, originally Associated Press. Headline is linked. Selig seeking stiffer steroid penalties RONALD BLUM / Associated Press NEW YORK (AP) - Baseball commissioner Bud Selig asked players...

Link There is a soccer team in the Netherlands. This team has lost a few games consecutively as of late. Fans of the team pooled some money and hired a stripper, which was sent to perform for the team during practice, all in hopes of lifting their spirits. Can anyone remind me how many strippers grateful New Yorkers sent to the Yankees after the ALCS?

Link For as long as anyone can remember, there has been a debate over why, at every level other than professional baseball, aluminum bats are used much more frequently than wood. The debate has reached the government level in Montana, where the parents of a player killed by a ball coming off an aluminum bat have sought to have aluminum bats banned. Bat companies have cited various studies to show that there is nothing inherently dangerous about aluminum bats, and that statistically baseb...
As I write this I am watching the Twins/ White Sox game on television. Tonight's game is the fourth between the two teams this year. Early on, the White Sox lead the season series 2-1. This year's Sox team is said to be built on speed and defense more than previous teams. There has been a big turnover of personnel, and so far it seems that it is paying off. (The White Sox are among the best teams early-on.) (Thank goodness Jose Valentin is gone to Los Angeles. He'd always hit a few ho...
Please note that this article has no official endorsement or fiduciary connection to Ballys Incorporated. This is a consumer reaction to events and apparent policies which appear to the writer to be offensive. Well, it almost isn't worth it any more anyway, as my lifetime gold membership is nearly up to the rate I can get a monthly membership for at any number of clubs, including Ballys. Wonder when the class action suits will commence as Ballys raises the lifetime yearly fee at the maxi...

As the contest is coming to a close (17 APRIL 2005). Those operators who are participating in the contest I request that they should be making calls node to node. Some nodes at this time have had no contacts made to them by others. Let's do it right by the node owners and the operators in these areas who have willing allowed us all to use their nodes for the contest. Remember that they are also 'Keeping The Radio In Amateur Radio' and also want to join in the fun of making as many cont...
