Geocaching is my new hobby and I wanted to see how many of you guys at JoeUser knew what it was. Geocaching is a GPS based game where people hide "treasures" that you must find using the GPS. I once did a cache where I hiked a mile up a mountain and had a breath taking view of the Hudson River. I became very passionate about Geocaching and try to go as often as possible. I even created a webiste for it, www.geo-nut.com. I made the site to introduce newcomers to Geocaching so feel free to chec...

New era has come and the new legend is born. Till 2003 "Pistol Pete" Sampras was assumed to be the God of Tennis but I think everything gonna be re written now by the legend in making Roger Federer. Having written a comparison between these two [Sampras & Federar] in my previous article already I don't wanna compare any more and just discuss about Federer here. Born 1981 in Basel Switzerland, preffered tennis after watching his Idols Stefan Edberg & Boris Becker in action, his hobbies are g...

I was going to write a blog on this after watching a poker tournament on ESPN. In that particular tournament, they were asking poker pros, if poker was a sport or a competition, surprisingly their answers were down the middle. I thought for sure they would say it was a sport. I asked a few people I know, who aren't into poker at all, and more surprisingly they thought it was a sport, with one woman saying, "Of course it is, otherwise it wouldn't be on all the sports channels." Before I wa...
The most recent Grand Sumo Tournament in Tokyo has been interesting.  After day 10, new Sekiwake Kotooshu leads the field with a 10-0 record, followed closely by Yokozuna Asashoryu at 9-1.  I am looking forward to their eventual showdown when the Yokozuna will have a chance to pull-even en route to his attempt at a perfect calendar year (winning every tournament.) I heard that Kotooshu's 10-0 record is the best record in the modern era for a rikishi debuting at his rank.  His s...

What is it with the University of Oregon Ducks Football team that turns people off? Is it the yellow jerseys? Whatever the reason, oh well. They have a nicely rounded team, a few minor tweaks were needed, but still, they can compete. They have a QB that is considered to be one of the best in school history, behind Joey Harrington. They have a rotation of HB's that can pound the line and razzle-dazzle any team. Their WR corps can out jump and out run any team. Their Defensive li...

Please note that the following article wasn't written because I'm a fan of a different NFC East division team than the NY "Football" Giants. It was written because I believe the NFL screwed up royally and showed extreme stupidity in having the New Orleans Saints play their "home" game against the Giants in the Meadowlands. First, the NFL screwed over the Saints and their fans. I know that there are bigger issues in the post Katrina aftermath than what happens with the Saints, and what in...

I just came across an incredible wrestling table top game called Wrestlings Finest...or, the official name is Tommy Vogel's Wrestling's Finest Table Top Game...or something like that....it can be found here: http://www.geocities.com/tvwf2002/tvwMain.html Anyways....this is probably the best table top game I have ever played for wrestling fans....incredible attention to detail here. Of all the summer slam pay per view events the currently concluded event of 2005 was the horrible most, it clearly shows how wwe is declining. There are no major stars in it, there were no crowd pullers [if at all one U can say Cena alone], and no technical wrestlers. The matches which were said to be the highlight of the event like Batista vs. JBL didnot even live upto 1% of expectation, both of them wrestled like b class wrestlers, Jericho vs. Cena was ok but again nothing to entertain t...

Being a huge sports fan I listen to sports talk radio, watch sports discussion shows and I'm an avid reader of my local newspaper's sport section and the USA Today's. I used to enjoy doing all three but lately I been finding it real boring. The reason is the subject matter. I'll give you a few examples. On a HBO interview, Randy Moss, the most talented wide receiver in the NFL, said he occasionally smoked marijuana and if any kid was watching not to think it was okay just cause he did it. ...

So it's Monday Night Football, my favorite part of the week, and the Saints are playing the Lions. Frankly I couldn't care less about either team, but I'm not going to turn it off—I love football too much to commit that act of heresy. So I wonder: What's a tepid fan to do? I don't know what the rest of y'all do, but here's my method for cheering for teams: 1. Broncos. If Denver's playing, I cheer for them no matter who they're playing against. 1b. Green Bay. I used to hate them but ...
Many have pointed to the laziness of the Australian team, yet everyone seems too scared to come out and blame the captain. Ponting's last 3 predecessors constantly pushed their men to work harder, be more determined and hone their skills. Their drive rubbed off on their men. Yet Ponting sits back and lets his men play as hard as they want. Steve Waugh was not unpopular as captain, but he spoke of how lonely the job was. Waugh took a leadership role and he imbued his side with grit and determi...

Looking for some more NFL type fantasy football owners. Preferably cut-throat. If possible, please post a comment and I'll contact you with the league id and password necessary to get set up. Thanks in advance to potential team owners, and hope you enjoy getting crushed like a ice by my superior skills in composing a team (... which, if my luck holds, will be filled with a bunch of injured reserved players after the first week )
