For all who don't know, there is a new website out there called Skillfights.com! This website allows you to compete with your artwork, your photography, your music-making, your videos, your flash animations, and your writings. You submit your entry into a fight of a specific category, and once the entry peroid is up, voting amonst the users of the site take place. Whoever gets the most votes wins! Why am I posting this? This website, believe it or not, is REALLY fun! It's like an olympics for...
The other day I happened to pop on over to my WinCustomize profile page to see if there was any action on my guest book, and I glanced past my "Member Since" date.  You know what I saw?  That I was coming up on my 5 year anniversary as a member of the Stardock community. November 30, 2002. Five years ago I came across a game called Galactic Civilizations.  There was a beta test going for anyone who bought the game so I signed up for an account, sent over some cash and was so...

So there I am . . two tabs open and next to each other.  Facebook and my site on Wincustomize.  (In the background is the DX Skin checker I use.) I'm thinking to myself . . wouldn't it be cool if I could display my gallery on my Facebook profile?  What about my favorite skins?  Oooo what about my watchlists? Has anyone ever tackeled a Facebook app?  Is there any interest?

As I get older (read more experienced socially) I have gotten a lot better in determining whether someone is a winner or a loser. Without knowing how much they make, how well they get along with their families, how in order they have their lives, I can usually tell in the course of a conversation whether the person is basically a winner or a loser. So how can you tell? Here's some things I look for: A Winner… Leaves a given situation better than they found it. If you loan them someth...
In our ongoing efforts to improve WinCustomize and make participating and contributing more fun and fulfilling for our skinners, we're looking at changing around how certain systems related to user reward work.  The first one is the Medals system. Currently automatically award Medals to users for hitting any number of milestones here on WinCustomize.  We track who's the top skinner across the entire site, who is the best in any particular gallery, how many downloads are achieve...
To kick off our recently revived "Featured Skinner" series, we've sat down with well-known member of the skinning community, vStyler, to ask him a few quick questions about his thoughts on skinning, how he got started, and a little bit about his skinning studio, MaxStyles, which has recruited community members such as I.R. Brainiac, messiah1, J. Aroche and others. I'd like to thank vStyler for taking the time to answer these questions in such depth and for providing a great preview shot of hi...

Yes I had an Apple Network on my PC. It was pretty good. At first the Network was a piece of crap and now it seems to be working. I don't know how but there are many reasons why this happened. I'll name one. It could've just been that my Computer Administrator wanted to adjust it. Thats the most likely. All I can say is that it was surprising.
Hello all, Just wanted to alert my JU buddies that I have joined Facebook, as a way to keep up with all the people I know all over. This way I can post photos of recent trips, family photos, all kinds of stuff. I am very impressed with Facebook -- it's easy to use and has great games and competitions, too. Anyway, below is the link to my page. If you're a Facebook subscriber too, feel free to contact me. Link
Did you hear about the woman who was denied a teaching degree because of a questionable picture of her in a costume and posted on a MySpace page with what seemed to be at the time, a rather amusing caption! The powers that be at the university she was supposed to get her teaching degree from thought the photo was "unprofessional" and "potentially offensive" because it seems to promote underage drinking and she's unfit to be in the teaching profession because of that! (read the link below)...

Long time listener of podcast. I still remember the episode where Brad described his experience with Ultima Online. In the last podcast Krintin said she was going to post which episode where it can be found. Anybody have any info on this? Thanks
I took time from my reading and responding because JU is doing it to me again! For the last month I've been having problems with the site, on and off. I accepted this because I know it gets busy and with all the new stuff being done, sometimes things don't work right. For example, not being able to respond, being asked to log in when I'm already logged in. Being kicked off when I'm logged in, and other zany things I can't remember. It is becoming an irritating itch now because to day...

Here at WinCustomize, nothing ever changes. It's one lie after another. It's censorship, based on ideology. Where as it's alright for a moderator to call a user a "twat", it's completely unacceptable for a user to make any reference to the same. In fact, even a reference..to the reference is out of bounds. But such is the way at WinCustomize. So now, I have to wait for a rather long time for WC to load. My ratings have NEVER made a difference. I've been treated like a virus from the time I...

Wait...watch...wonder. The customer service here rocks! Seriously! PC
A little while ago, Brad started talking up the upcoming refresh to WinCustomize.  He mostly talked about features and some cool stuff you could expect from the new site, but so far, all you've had are lines of text, nothing to really sink your teeth into.  Seeing as how we're all about the visual aspects of our computers, I thought it might be nice to give you a little taste of what the site is looking like at the moment.  Overall, better usability, and a slicker look and feel.Th...
