Where we are and where we're going. Soon... Then... And finally. The robot overlords will smile.
I'll be honest with you. I spend a lot of time on Reddit. One can see a direct correlation between the rice of Reddit (and to a lesser extent Twitter and Facebook) and the fall of blogs and forums. And I think that's a shame because the nice thing about forums is that you get to know the regulars and there are many nice features on forums that Reddit doesn't have. Still, the UI on many forums, including ours, is not as good as I'd like to see. Which makes me won...
When you're stuck within 4 walls [figuratively] trying not to go nuts [or more nuts] you fixate on doing things. This is what's keeping me on a relative level of sanity...both are from bare-metal strip-downs requiring brazing [metal work]...all the way to what you see now.... [in a bit of a rut with the colour scheme]... So, what have you guys been doing for sanity? ...
Among one of the many things COVID has brought us is the cancellation of much needed vacations across the world. It's destroyed a great deal of the travel industry, and things like theme parks are just starting to reopen. One of my personal favorites, the cruise industry, has barely started to come back and normal cruising won't resume probably until well into next year. We have had 3 out of the 4 scheduled cruises this year cancelled, with only one of those not related to COVID. At this poin...
We have a 20 pound weight and a scale on the surface of Earth that we will take on this trip. We have a space ship that has a new engine that accelerates particles of matter to propel it self and can accelerate for years if necessary. We blast into orbit around earth and are traveling 17000 miles per hour. Alpha Centauri, 4.3 light-years from Earth is our destination. The engine is turned on and using our 20 pound weight and a scale we accelerate at a constant 32 feet per se...
My last post on this site was over 7 years ago so forgive me if this is in the wrong forum or off topic or whatever. Not like they would need my permission but the admins should feel free to move, delete or lock this post as they see fit. This post, blog, thread or whatever it is, is primarily to gather my own thoughts as I begin to come to terms with my own mortality and look back on my life. I expect to go into many diverse topics including but not limited to philosophy, religion, the huge ...
I received a nice article in my email from Review Geek, going through photo editors and image manipulation and creation software for Windows systems, paid and free, so figured that in these days of being almost exclusively at home, folks might be interested in the software that's out there, and what each program does, as well as whom they're most compatible with. I'm not going to recommend one or another, as there's no "one size fits all"...there wouldn't be an article to refer you to if that...

This is certainly an interesting time right now. I know many of us around the world are social distancing, self-quarantining, or whatever phrase you are using for it. So let's take a moment and check-in here and let the community know how you're doing during all this.
Photo Credit: NintendoIn an effort to save its struggling business, GameStop has appointed 3 new members to its executive board, including games-industry legend Reggie Fils-Aimé. He will be joined by former Walmart US President Bill Simon, and PetSmart CEO J.K. Symncyk. Fils-Aimé announced the news on his personal Twitter on Monday, saying that “The gaming industry needs a healthy and vibrant GameStop.” The former Nintendo President/COO joins the board with a...
Very sad indeed... R.I.P. Orson Bean.
You are taking a job on the other side of the country 3000 miles away and you have to be there in one week. You will drive a fully loaded personal truck with a fully loaded box trailer. Each day you will drive 600 miles starting at sun up and you will stop at a motel 6 at night to rest. I researched the Tesla truck and it sounds like you could have a 500 mile range and at a Tesla Megacharger station you could get an 80% charge and 400 more miles in 30 minutes of charge time,...
