The year is 1916 and Russia is an agrarian paradise under the benevolent rule of Tsar Nicholas II. Sound shocking dear reader?! Well read on to see the true extent of the counter-revolutionary lies to be found in the 1997 Animated Musical “Anastasia”.   Note the working class freezing to death in the background   Exhibit A: “There was a time, not very long ago when we lived in an enchanted world of elegant palaces and grand parties. Th...

First off I want to state that this is in no way a political post, it's strictly personal. Secondly I'm not accepting comments because this is a statement, not a discussion. The lie to which I'm referring was most recently repeated by Anthony R in Reply #33 of the since locked How do you feel the middle class is viewed? thread. This same lie has also been repeated by Dr Guy some time ago but I don't happen to have a link to the specific thread, however he does in fact make reference ...

Not going into which country or anything, but a country has a statistical life expectancy of 71-75 years, BUT an average age of 17.something years. The question is, how is it possible to reach such disparate numbers? With an average age that low, how can you get a reasonable assumption that you can live to 71-75 years of age? I can see that if you have a huge influx of young people, or a baby boom of 17 years and still going strong, but assuming that isn't the case... how? (Source of nu...
When I boot my computer from Sleep mode, the desktop is unresponsive (nothing reacts when I click, icons don't light up when I pass the cursor over it, right clicking doesn't do anything). This only started happening today. I downloaded new display drivers for my computer yesterday, but that's all I can think of. Can anyone help me with this?
Title says it all.
What is the best software that can block pop ups, as well as ads that appear on the sides of webpages? They add a lot of load time to some pages. Plus some ads have stuff I really don't want to look at.
I really do not want to play the opening levels (the sewers/canals and Ravenholm). The sewers are boring and confusing, and Ravenholm is just too damn scary . I like sci fi, not horror. If anyone can give me links to where i can download post-Ravenholm save games, it would be much appreciated.

Finally the regular Joes win one. And gamers take note of the last paragraph. I have always pretty much ignored our pro-corporate/anti-consumer government on such matters, but they finally get one right. Anything I buy, I own and alter as I see fit anyways. For those though that were afraid to take control of their products via some sort of legal backlash can finally have at it.

I recently attempted to update my PS3 to the latest version as required by sony for online blahblah.  The update failed and now I receive error code 8002F147.  I've gone through Sony's tongue in cheek joke they call troubleshooting (unplug the unit, wait a few minutes, then boot up again) but still get the error code.  I found a guide that indicated how to boot into safe mode (essentially holding the power button through a cycle of beeps), but I can't get to the menu.&...
I recently had my computer's OS restored, and now when I try to put my computer into Sleep (stand by) mode, it goes into sleep mode briefly (the light blinks as usual), and then the system turns itself back on again. This is extremely irritating. Can anyone help me?
I had a dream last night. It's odd that I can remember pretty much the whole thing, and since the dream was so strange I figure I'd post it. The dream starts off with me at my house. My parents are sleeping upstairs, and my brothers are in the basement. The doorbell rings and I go to answer it. It's these 2 guys and a girl, about college-aged. They walk inside (uninvited) and start looking around the house. I was confused. What the hell is going on? So I ask them. They reveal to me that m...

As if you didn't have enough reasons to hate him already, Bobby Kotick (the CEO of Activision for those who don't know) wants to turn Call of Duty into a subsciption game. Of course, it could be said that they already are, what with the $15 map packs. The worst part is, I'm sure people will eat it up. Last year, right around this time, I started the Tug of War game, and it became the first big forum game here. I know, props and all. But then, things got hectic with me trying to do epic level counts (we got into the -1000>0>1000 games) for each game, then contracting mono, etc, etc. But now, I have more than enough time to stick with this game and give it my full attention! And it'll give me something to do when grinding missions in EVE. So without further ado, I present to you, ag...
Everyone's favorite Stardock Forum wrangler celebrates another trip around the sun today. Happy Birthday
As you may have heard, part of South Park's newest episode has been censored because it talks about the Prophet Muhammed and shows him in a bear suit, joking about the fact that Muhammed can't be shown in a picture. Now Muslim groups are making threats to South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Comedy Central caved in and censored part of the episode. Reading the story just pissed me off. Political Correctness (also known as double standards) has run amok. Why can Muslim extr...
